Retooled TOCA, with emphasis on exciting racing (and crashing) as opposed to car tuning shittitry. Looks fucking awesome, if you ask me. PS3/360/PC, but the demo is part of the whole Gamer's Day thing so I think it hits a few days earlier on PSN.

I thought it might be a Wipeout/FZero thing, not interested if it's yet another modern racer.

TOCA is called the Race Driver series in the US, if that helps.  Focus was on many disciplines of racing and an ass-load of opponents.

I loved TOCA but I'm not bitter about the changes made in creating GRID.  If they can make it fun, at the end of the day that's why I play games.  I'm really looking forward to it.

It's not Wipeout/Exteme G/F-Zero stuff at all.

I played a build of this 2 weeks ago with a G25. Looks like PGR crossed with Forza @ 30fps with 200% brown. Plays like PGR but tries to be Forza. It's too confused for it's own good.

Shame the ruined the Race Driver series like this.

tbh i didnt get enough chance to make a real judgement and the g25 i used was poorly configured. but from what i saw it's a step back from what made it great.

I guess I've adopted the view that it is a completely different game, and hope that maybe the actual TOCA franchise will continue one day.

I view it as essentially playing PGR with touring cars and 20 cars on track (as far as that 1/3 of GRID is concerned anyway).  The other 2 styles of racing, well, I'll wait and see what they're like.

I also hope they maybe offer DLC for the more niche things like the V8s.
