I dunno, a lot of the songs seem to have that 'wandering' quality of their earliest work. You know where they just kinda croon in no particular direction and the song seems kinda longer than it should be. I mean I ended up liking a lot of their earlier stuff, but it took some time.

Then again the songs I like from Death Cab are spread across all of their CDs, so its clear I am a difficult listener to please.

Yeah, a lot of the songs on the CD sounds either like Death Cab is trying a totally new artistic direction or closer to pre Photo Album style.

And thats fine, but I discovered them during the Transatlanticism era, so even tho I like a good handful of songs from earlier cds, im a bit skewed in that direction. Reviews that said the CD is similar to Plans are on crack tho.

Oh yeah. The only thing that was similar to Plans/Transatlanticism was I Will Possess Your Heart for sure.

For me this is what my reaction to Beautiful Garbage by Garbage was like. I loved the first albums, but this one is so weird I dunno what to do with it except give it a nod and move along.

I got into them before Something About Airplanes even came out, so my preference is toward that stuff.

Yeah, I think my previous highlights I pointed out are the best tracks, hands down. I especially like Cath..., mainly because it reminds me in some degree of Airport Girl.
