I guess its looking like more Hillary supporters would vote mccain over obama than obama people voting mccain over hillary.

The idea that anyone would do that on either side when both candidates are so close on the issues is mind blowing.

Zealous Clinton supporters baffle me. You'd honestly rather see a Republican in the White House as opposed to the other Democratic candidate??

 ???

I'm voting for the DEMOCRAT. THE FUCKING DEMOCRAT.

According to my friend in Bloomington, Lake County is 27000 OBama, 9500 Clinton with 25% in.

Dailykos has the margin at 20k votes - so it's possible that the rest of Lake and Monroe (Bloomington) can WIN this for Obama.

even if she wins it's still a loss. bottom line: tonight was a loss for her. she's canceling her morning talk show appearances tomorrow. she just donated more money to her campaign. this was obama's worst month yet she still didn't capitalize on the "momentum."

Russert is saying the Obama camp is working a deal with the Clinton camp to seat the Florida delegates and maybe the Michigan ones because it doesn't matter now: she can't surpass him in either delegates or popular vote anymore.

Russert is also saying the Obama camp is starting the VP search process

That'd be a smart move for Obama cause it will mean stronger support come general election, while they were operating against the rules, Dems will need those fukers come General. REMEMBER FLORIDA LAST TIME>!?!?!?!??!

It's a 1% gap - Obama has to go up 1%, and Clinton down 1%

And the leftover regions are heavily Obama-leaning

I'm pretty sure that Bill Clinton put on a ton of weight during the 96 campaign, especially the primaries.  I might be remembering Primary Colors as if it were nonfiction, though.

Tangent!  Check out these exit polls.

By quick and sloppy mental math, 10% of the people who voted for Hillary in Indiana have no intention of voting for her in the primary.  4% of Obama supporters doing the same thing.

That's taking the responses seriously and literally, which is a big caveat.

Im FINE with people voting differently for VALID reasons, but there are many people who will go the other way 'because my person didnt win'. Its that annoying sabotage that will come up in 4 years when we're groaning about mccain and they go 'this wouldnt have happened if hillary/obama won'

I have problems with McCain's stance on social issues, so I'd definitely vote for Hillary if she beat Obama in the primaries.

Voters are kind of crazy.  In the early primaries McCain kept beating out the other Republicans among anti-war primary voters.  Edwards, the closest thing to a socialist in the mainstream Democratic field, generally did better among self-described conservatives than moderates or liberals.

There's a reason politicians dumb down the political discourse with catchphrases and draconian message control.  It's the same reason newspaper stories are written in the inverted pyramid style.

If Obama doesn't win the nomination, I'm voting for Nader.  However, if it is a neck and neck race with McCain, I'll vote for Hillary under the most extreme reluctance.  If she squanders this opportunity, then I'm pretty much done with the Democrats.  They don't seem to care about winning anything.

I'll vote for the democratic nominee. Hillary had my support when this thing started a year ago, but lost it as this thing got nasty. Nothing she did was "McCain has a black baby lol" nasty, but I thought it was nasty in the sense of the blatant pandering and divisiveness. Granted, I liked the idea of having a democrat in the WH who would kick the shit out of republicans. I didn't expect her to attempt to kick the shit out of a fellow democrat by using such disgusting tactics - from the SC fiasco to this GAS TAX gimmick. Ugh

She'll do anything to win. I understand politics is a game of thrones and to win you have to compromise certain values, but there's still a line that shouldn't be crossed. She crossed it countless times.

If the Democrats don't win because they couldn't get enough votes, then I will stop voting for them.

Wait, what?

The reason is that the Democrats clearly don't give a damn about securing the White House so why should I waste my Presidential votes on worthless Democrat candidates that are nominated by pure back room machine politics that have no chance of setting foot in the White House?  They squandered 2000 and 2004.  If they fuck up 2008 by nominating Hillary, then it is clear that they don't seriously intend to win, as she has yet to do a single thing right since she has been running.  My vote for President can be better used elsewhere.

This doesn't mean I'll be done with the Democrats entirely (US Representatives, US Senators, Governors, etc.) but for the President itself, yeah, I'll be finished.

I think his campaign rhetoric-in the primaries no less!-clearly points to him being more of a compromiser and a guy that will work out agreements for the sake of moving the country to a more unified place, a sort of post-partisan détente, if you will. Hillary has pretty much from the get go been a polarizing partisan figure, and her notion of change has, IMO, clearly been one of partisan ownership of the executive.

maybe she'd ion cannon ron paul's HQ too.

Obama should at least mess with the electoral politics some and help out downticket races by a huge amount. I think that Republicans have really set themselves up for an epic disaster on all fronts in November.

Quote
i have exactly the opposite reaction -- the obama might be more likely to take a stance on principle, whereas hillary has already sold her soul to the beltway power elite.

Both of their stances on most of the issues are pretty similar, though. The legislation crafted and presented to congress would be different-I can see Obama's administration working the bill some to ensure bipartisan support, and Hillary ramming it through out of a sense of "I'm the president, suck on this". Given that anything the GOP touches turns to shit, the latter is proabably better legislation.
