If nothing else, it sure as hell looks bloody spectacular.

And Rico looks like Dave Lister now

Honestly, that video is a bit underwhelming.  I remember the game looking more impressive during the E3 showing.

In this latest video, only the physics effects look like something we haven't seen before.

I don't know what you're looking at here, but gun models, character models, particle effects (I assume that's what the explosions fall under), it's all a step above anything else available on consoles. Well, character models may be debatable, but there's a level of organic detail to these characters that the one-piece looking characters in for example Gears/UT3 just can't compete with. And the texture quality is a lot better in this level than in the E3 level. The daytime setting also makes for a good showcase for the lighting effects, which are incredible.

What's so impressive about the character models?  Their designs are plain and there's nothing spectacular technically about how they look or animate.

The guns are pretty cool but not a huge step up from COD4.

The E3 video gave more of an almost-CG vibe whereas the newest one just looks like a grittier, sci-fi version of COD4.

The gun models are a HUGE step up from what's in even the PC version of COD4. Character models show an even greater leap, as do particle effects and lighting. There's really no contest there. The gameplay doesn't look particularly enticing, but the presentation is just  :o

Honest cap on, I thought Killzone 2 looked great when it was first revealed.  It surprised me that the PS3 was able to render that quality of graphics at a playable framerate.

This newest video just feels kinda meh.  It looks like a bland of COD4 and Gears of War, which is still good, just not amazing like I expected it to be.

Maybe it's just harder to impress me now that I've played Crysis on High and COD4 at greater than 1080P.

Perhaps, but as said... COD4 really doesn't have shit on this. And Crysis, while genuinely :o, is very different in its presentation. Certainly more impressive, but not as carefully directed, or stylized. This feels a good deal more cinematic. Relatively limited, but more striking.

I'm still very interested in KZ2.  The physics alone are worth checking out.

I haven't seen a building blow up like that except for World In Conflict on the PC, and that requires much more power than a $400 console.
