I really feel like playing one of these games after reading Nikki's thread. I know I am going to be playing them on my PSP through emulation, but what are the definitive versions of the game? Should I download the All Stars or GBA version of SMB3? Is the GBA version of Yoshi's Island better than the original SNES offering?

Thanks in advance! :D

The sad thing is there is no definitive version for SMB3, unfortunately.

All Stars
+Better Sound quality

-No ability to replay levels
-Physics are a bit off (too much inertia)

GBA:
+Ability to replay levels
+Physics are much better than in All Stars and closer to the original NES version

-Sound quality is SHITE
-Voice effects in the game

As for YI, I haven't tried the GBA version, but you can expect like with most GBA games, the sound quality will also be shite, however it's supposed to have extra levels or something. Still, yoo can't go wrong with the SNES one.

Is SNES GBA emulation perfect yet or does it still stumble over certain things, most notably mode 7 shit?

Nope, it's pretty solid.  The only thing it suffers from is the same as thing all the SNES ports suffered from, constrained aspect ratio.

If you have a Wii, just VC Mario 3. It's only five bucks.
