I called my mother to wish her a Happy's Mother Day - the only thing that was going to make me happy, especially since I miss my family and all my friends/family are out of town or unavailable. My mother answered crying in tears and told me she'd call me back. My brother had been on thin ice in her house, after not getting a full-time job or going to school, but then he decided to smoke cigarettes in the house (literally, in the bathroom). Smoking is a huge no-no with my mother - she lost her father primarily to his smoking (watching him die before our eyes), my grandma has serious medical problems from his second-hand smoke, we've lost a cousin to her sister smoking, etc. But to do it especially
inside her house was outrageous. My mother and I both have asthma. After we carefully got over that, it was decided that my brother would pay rent and not smoke cigarettes while living under her roof.
So last night she found drug paraphernalia under her backyard deck. So on Mother's Day, she kicked her "baby" out of the house. He's packing up and heading to his father's house in the meanwhile. She'll barely talk to me because she's crying and my brother is texting the hell out of me, asking me what he should do. I think he's going to try and come out here.
This is pretty depressing.
