I agree.

Ployphony did SOMETHING with the lighting that no one else has figured out how to do, and it looks awesome.

GT5:P is only 720P though with 2x AA.  The huge image quality difference is more noticeable than whatever lighting advantage GT5:P might have.

I've played GT5:P on the same monitor and it doesn't look quite as good as Grid with maxed out settings at 1920x1200.

Grid's graphics does seem to have been slightly downgraded from Dirt in order to have a smoother framerate.

It's a shame that they couldn't tweak the engine to run with the same visual fidelity but with a higher framerate.

First the vaseline effect needs to go.

It's the motion blur which looks much better in motion.

For some reason, it looks terrible during screen captures.

yuck, pc gaming

Gaming with better resolution, framerate, image quality is bad?

Yeah, the graphics really seemed to have been downgraded from Dirt.  The textures were much crisper in Dirt.

It's not surprising since both the 360 and PS3 had such a hard time running Dirt.

for the PC demo, if you wanna turn off the brown HDR effect goto "my documents\codemasters\grid demo\hardwaresettings\hardware_settings_config.xml"  and set postprocess and blur to “false”

also in the main grid demo dir, goto "cars\tyreGrip.csv" and the tyre grip values can be turned down, not tried it myself there's a lot of numbers in there, will wait until someone makes a modded version for download

There's an easy change you can make to some files that greatly reduced the amount of bloom in DiRT, and the game looked way better for it (that's what I did when I played it on the PC).

I have the demo installed but I haven't played it. :( NASCAR 2003 Season managed its way onto my PC again and with some mods I am doing the whole 2007 Nextel Cup with the Car of Tomrrow cars-including the Halo 3/Gamefue/Targetl #40 driven last September.
