US. I like my country and have no intention or interest in living anywhere else. That's not a knock on the rest of the world or a nationalistic cling to the US: my family is here, my friends are here, I like our constitution, etc.

Racism exists everywhere, just in varying degrees. I live a few miles away from the San Fransisco of the north (Ann Arbor): this is a pretty progressive area.

I'd love to visit many countries

-New Zealand (basically I want to camp everywhere that the LOTR movies were filmed omg :bow)
-Japan (beautiful countryside, crazy cities, black-curious women)
-Great Britian (to pass out dental cards)
-Nigeria (i know a lot of people from Nigera)
-Brazil (nuff said)

-Japan (black-curious women)

I googled your possible misconception
and found this interesting quote

Quote
Not all Japanese girls fall for black men nor love sex.
But there are some girls who are only attracted to black men
and love black culture, and girls who is always chasing after black men are called 'Bra-pan'.
They often tan their bodies and dress up like black woman, such as Beyonce.
You can see them at pubs/clubs around American army/navy bases
or in Roppongi, Tokyo.

I wanted to say Denmark because of it's forward thinking in some aspects of society, it's women have better attitudes towards sex and marriage and the homogeneity of its culture. But then I remembered that the weather sucks and the entertainment options are dismal.

Hey Smooth, weird question to ask in this thread, but is eczema worsened by the cold?  I swear, I never saw people with eczema back in Puerto Rico but I see them all the time here.  It's damn gross.

There's supposedly a big genetic component to eczema.  Maybe Japanese kids are more susceptible?

It's very weird, I had literally never seen a case of eczema in my 20-plus years of living in Puerto Rico.  I move to Japan and I see people with awful cases of eczema (some even covering their entire faces) almost daily.

I thought it was a skin condition thing that was worsened by using abrasive soaps and stuff...I'm not a doctor so I dunno how it works.  All I know is from what I've seen, it gets really bad around areas of skin where the skin bends (neck, elbow area, wrist area, eyes).

Realistically, UK.  I dig British culture a ton .  At the same time, the art cigarillo in me would love to be somewhere on the mediterranean, possibly Italy or southern France, purely for aesthetics.  Actually, France would be an option, too.

It's a tough question.  I can't really answer it without asking "which country's culture do I wish I grew up in?" and they really aren't the same questions at all.  But I can't separate them.  I have something of a resentment for having grown up in the US.

Yeah, it was a low blow. I almost deleted it but then thought; "fuck it it's a message board for fucks sake."

Anyway, congrats. Does Canada follow the 1L,2L,3L thing? I can tell you that 1L is both the most enlightening and challenging experience you will have. Be prepared to be served disinformation from fellow class mates and study at least 16 hours for each exam (20 preferably).

Also, I highly recommend Emanuel's outline, or at least a Canadian equivalent for (at least) your first year. I got nothing from any horn book but the outlines were awesome. *test tip* always always always combine the cases you cover with the "black letter law"

spoiler (click to show/hide)
this all may be pointless for Canada though since you all don't have the same case history as the US and very well may follow English common law much more than the US (Spirit of '76 and all (1776 ;)))

i vote UK largely for the reasons expressed by TVC.  Thankfully, with my parents being military, though i spent the majority of my life in the USA, I did get to see other parts of the world.  notably in the late 70s, before the huge 80s Orientalism resurgence in American culture.

Even at a young age, I was on the cutting edge.

sounds like much of America

so i think at least the television and radio would be better.

speaking of, i downloaded this interesting program called The Dark History of Britian wherein archaeologists and historians try to suss out the hows and whys of the anglo-saxon "invasion" of England.  Some of them believe that there was no invasion at all, as evidenced by no one being able to find mass graves or anything of that sort.

The Sub-Roman stuff was rather fascinating and I'll probably spend my day reading up on that.

as someone who had amazing/shitty experiences in the UK, i think the overall picture is flowery.

By UK, i suspect a lot of you mean "London" - well, you might mean other places, but anyways, let me foray blindly into my very anglocentric appraisal !

Actually, I'm not sure I'd like to live in a huge megalopolis.  I'd probably be up for another urban area in the UK, but there is such a thing as too much.  I can tell because I hate people and I am racist against all minorities.

Canada - I love snow/cold weather and the people are nice, not far from home.

Having traveled and lived all over the world, I'd honestly rather just stay in America if anything just for the convenience of it all.  If I want to go buy batteries and a turkey dinner at 3 in the morning I can get it.  I know that sounds like your typical crass American speaking but seriously, go live abroad for awhile (like 3 or 4 years) and you'll miss having access to these stupid little things.  Plus in America I'm usually fully versed on what days things will be closed unlike in some countries like Germany for instance where you'll go shopping on a Tuesday afternoon only to find everything is closed because of some obscure religious observance.

I would like to go back to Spain one day though.  Beautiful country.

The UK seems like a terrible place to live (not going by your post dcharlie). I have this somber and depressing view of it. I've been to London for one day, and I guess I was lucky that it was a sunny day, so I was kinda left with a good impression. But we spent the whole day on Oxford Street and an hour or so in Hyde Park :lol

Shit is ridiculously expensive there. Everything costs at least twice as much.
