Right now this is a very cool sandbox investigation/hack 'n slash game with an amazing inventory and stats system, great character art and great dialogue, but even if I do appreciate what I'm playing immensely, the randomly generated shadowrunnings that you have to do in order to get nuyen are beginning to really nag me.

So now I'm progressing a bit in the investigation, I bought a visa in order to access some territory close to Seattle, and am beginning to find some pieces of the puzzle regarding who killed Michael and why... I just wonder if it becomes a bit more epic as you progress.

So far I've yet to have a really good fight with a boss or something like that, all the fights were rather dull. This is a great game, but it feels too much like an offline MMO for my liking.

I really need to play the Genesis version sometime. I only played through the supposedly crappy SNES version, but I actually enjoyed it.

yeah the SNES version was cool, just running around the city with these catchy little MIDI tunes was awesome, I love the one that plays when you wake up in the morgue at the beginning and the one when you go in the first bar

in comparison the Genesis edition is much, much deeper so you need to get around to playing it

I've got to track down the Genesis version. I really enjoyed the SNES version but it felt pretty short. In no time I had my character leveled up and equipped with the best weapons. Only thing I thought was kinda 'meh' was the end boss. That came out of left field. I was like WTF when I saw him.

I loved the Genesis version of Shadowrun, it was probably my most played title on the system. I should dig up my Genesis and give it another go.

I just thought it was "out of left field" that he was a dragon.

The SNES version was more focused, had better graphics and a much better soundtrack. I'd still like to get around to finishing the Genesis version sometime, though.

it felt better to do quests in the SNES version because in the Genesis version something like 95% of them are completely randomized

however as far as stats, gameplay, character art, inventory, upgrades, story, overall Shadowrun feel and dialogue go, the Genesis game is a lot superior
