What would you like to buy in the upcoming months?
« on: May 13, 2008, 11:36:24 PM »
I know we have daily wdyb threads here.  Most are filled with food, dvd, games, concert and movies tickets and the like.  Let's talk about some big purchases.

Here are some things I would like to buy this year.

Eames Lounge with Ottoman

Besides clothes for the summer and a few 360 games, I want either the MGS4 PS3 bundle or this:

DELL ULTRASHARP 2408WFP

If I can find a job this or next month, I'll try to get both.

I'm buying a 4x4 ute in the next couple of weeks.  Unfortunately this is a purchase out of necessity rather than luxury so it's getting added onto the home loan.

No, a real tank. As an ornament near our paintball course. They are fairly easy to find and not necessarily all that expensive, but shipping is a bitch.

A 2009 Honda Fit in the Fall (they don't come out till September I think)...I am a sucker for hatchbacks.  Plus I don't really like cars all that much to begin with.

A $21,000 payment toward my student loans, which will pretty much clear me the fuck out for buying any cool big stuff for a few months.

Hopefully a couple of plane tickets out to Portland Oregon so my wife and I can drive up and down the coast trying to get a feel for the area...thinking about moving to the NW next year sometime.

Kyle: iirc any bluray player with an internet connection can be updated for future bluray upgrades. Its the ones without a connection that are in trouble. This of course would depend on Sony to make the upgrade :/

Most tech sites consider the PS3 the best bluray player on the market since it has upgradeable firmware and tons of memory.  If you don't feel the games for the system why don't you use it as a dedicated bluray player.  Just get the remote and you're all set.

I consider the PS3 the best and the cheapest bluray player available in the market, but I have to replace my old (DivX-enabled) DVD Player with a finished spec Bluray player that is DivX enabled too. so, selling my PS3 would save more space for my little home theater, cuz I didn't play games on my PS3 since I bought it  :-\ even GT5P was boring.

I have to take the best chances selling my PS3 when MGS4 come out.  :D

A nice new apartment.

Some nice furniture.

I'm about to be JOBLESS soon though.   :o  Hopefully I can find something good once this job is over.

I'd also like a bigger HDTV (mine is only 20 inches) and an old SDTV for the Wii/PS2.

Yeah I just don't have the time or patience right now to do that. I need a good one for some of the games coming out soon. Since moving out of my parents' I got a hand me down that was only good for surfing the net. It barely ran StarCraft and Diablo 2 and that was after maxing the memory and RAM out  :lol

I'm not committing to one thing or another until I have a vehicle.  I think I'd like psychology more since it would not only be potentially useful in real life, but it's a much useful from a potential career perspective.
