I don't know about english Canada, but french Canada is seemingly centered ENTIRELY around humor, any kind of humor show is instantly blazingly popular, and nowadays you can't get any acting or talk-show host job if you aren't a successful humorist, also humorists are given so much attention in the media that it's ridiculous, it's like they're more important than the most significant news and the biggest social stakes
