I'm sure it will be a gritty, edgy mess. Is the art team still "intact"? And is the guy who made the soundtrack for the first one coming back for the second? Those are the things that made BG&E great, after all.

Nope, it was all perfect. One of the best games I have, and will ever, play. It's one of the few games that whatever you say is simply wrong.

It was too short and easy, but I liked the game. I'd rather they make a true sequel to the best 3D platformer ever (Rayman 2) but this sounds good too.

It was a very pretty world. The design felt distinctly European, which is a good thing.

There was a great idea behind BG&E, but it was simply amiss because of shit like that fucking Pig-man, your Cuban fanny pack, and every other supporting character was just annoying and useless.

There's such thing as good Euro art, look at Fable or AC. Aside from Jade, BG&E has some of the worst character design I've ever seen, and that boat you drive? What the fuck, man. It's a Fisher Price toy.

isn't all this hoopla contingent on Ubi approving the dang game, and assigning a budget and team to it? So Ancel says there COULD be a BG&E 2, since when did that mean that there will?

Hell, even if it was started full-on development today, we probably wouldn't see a scrap about it in a year, and not get a chance to play it for two, if that. What with Ubi Soft's turning itself into a highly profitable Clancy-Game-of-the-Month-Club, what place does a sequel to a game that hit $20 inside of two months five years ago hold for them today?

I had the original on Gamecube, I'll be buying a 360 this summer, and I can't wait to play the sequel. I guess the only thing left to decide is if I should buy it new right away or wait for the inevitable price drop.

Yeah, because they sell the hardware, enjoys the Nintendo heritage (which held them back last generation), and has no problem developing games and accessories aimed squarely at the Oprah crowd. I'd certainly hope BG&E 2 isn't anything like that.
