I've decided to get Orange Box and also Company of Heroes since Cajole seems to like it. What else is worth good? I mainly want RTS and turn based strategy games, but I'll try other types of games too. No more FPS (orange box should last me for a while) or mmorpg recommendations please.

Titan's Quest and Neverwinter Nights 2 should run ok on your labtop. If you do get either game, make sure to grab the expansion also.

Starcraft, Warcraft III, and Civilization IV for the absolute win.

CNC3, Dawn of War, Supreme Commander, and Sins of a Solar Empire for more win.

Neverwinter Nights 2 was pretty good once it had been patched up and got that expansion.

Yeah, I like rpgs although I've never really played a western one. I'll get Titan's Quest since everyone seems to like it. Not sure about NWN2...

CNC3 is Command & Conquer 3? Can my laptop run it? What about the older C&C games?

Also, If I get Civilization IV, is there any reason to get any of the previous games?

If your computer can run Orange Box and Company of Heroes, then I don't see why it can't run CNC3.
I love the CNC franchise but I don't know much about it. However, I enjoyed Tiberium Sun and Red Alert 2. I played the original CNC, Red Alert 1, and Generals, but I couldn't get into them. Don't know about how you would like them.

I have only played Civilization IV, so I don't know much about the previous games.

8400GM? I read a thread on GAF that some guy could barely run BioShock on his machine with that chipset

edit - His was a GT, not sure if that is weaker than your GS

He updated the drivers and got it running at 30-40 fps.

Medieval 2: Total War is a good pick. It's a really fun game that has both turn-based stuff and real time battles.

There's no reason to get anything before Civ4 if you want to play Civ, though I would recommend getting the expansion pack Beyond the Sword as well since it drastically enriches the game and has a huge amount of content. The Warlords expansion should be skipped.

Titan Quest Gold (game+expansion) can be had for $20 and it is the best loot and levels game on the PC. Don't miss out on it.

Argh, I don't wanna spend too much money. I think I'll just get a wireless mouse (touchpads are ass), Civilizations 4, and Company of Heroes for now.

I'll get Orange Box, the Civ4 expansion, Titan's Quest and probably a few of the other recommendations over the summer.

Cool, I'll probably be a jobless bum for the next month, so we'll have time to play.

Btw, do you still play Burnout Paradise? I haven't really played it online and I wanna do the challenges since I'll be done with the main game soon. I set all the time road rules yesterday. All I have left to do is set the showtime road rules, get my elite license, and find a few more smashes, billboards, and superjumps (less than 25 each).

I haven't played BP in at least a month. I'm not averse to playing it with you online, though. It'd be good if we could get a bunch of people to play though, since I already have all the 2-player, and I think most of the 3-player challenges.

I have a handful of smashes, billboards and super jumps to do. I just didn't feel like searching for them.

Who else has it on the 360? The only ones I know of are Willco, MAF, and TVC.
