i've got some games in mind i'd like to get for the ps3 but i was looking for recomendations from people that actually played them and know whether or not they are good.

i saw one game from japan that caught my interest, Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan!, but i don't know if it's any good. any other japanese games i don't know of that might be pretty cool?

If it weren't my duty as Captain Xbot to besmirch PS3 exclusives, I would also say that R&C:Tools of Destruction and Uncharted are pretty good.

Heavenly Sword and Motorstorm are heavily flawed but they're at least worth renting.

I bought this about a month ago and have yet to even take it into my living room, where my PS3 resides in its dusty enclave below my tv.

If it's anything like the 1st game, it'll be awesome but heavily flawed, and not very import friendly (lots of story and dialog, masses of onscreen text that you need to be able to follow).

There are rumors floating around that Kenzan is coming to North America in the Fall. So, unless you read Japanese, I'd wait.

I dunno Muckson, I'd try out the Kenzan demos (there's two of them) off the J-PSN store before you buy it. I thought it sucked.

I'm not really sure what the hell is going to appeal to you on the PS3 other than MGS4, really. Heavenly Sword might be worth a rent. You got Ninja Gaiden Black on Xbox so no real need for Sigma, especially with NG2 coming in just a few weeks.

So it's really kinda bare bones. You might consider getting Battle Fantasia since it will be free to play online and you don't want Live Gold anymore, right?

I still use my PS3 mainly to play PS2 games and for some movies (Blu-Ray selection sucks balls here or I'd have a lot more). Really the only PS3 game I load up anymore is Warhawk every now and then. I'd say try UT3 too, but you don't like FPS games anyway. You might like Uncharted. There's a demo for that you can try. Heavenly Sword too.

Valkyrie of the Battlefield sounds interesting, not to mention it has Skies of Arcadia cameos, that's out in Japan now.

I would not suggest R&C personally. That game was the biggest PS3 dissapointment so far, so painfully unfunny and plain. Bleh, damaged my hopes a lot for Resistance 2. It's not a platformer and as a 3rd person shooter it's very unchallenging and repetitive despite gimmicky 'crazy' weapons.

I'd suggest Burnout Paradise (best game I played on PS3), Uncharted (good 3rd person shooter, nicely polished), Resistance (nice FPS). I liked Heavenly Sword too, but that's a great rental.

Yep, I'm still waiting for that big "I love my PS3" game (360 was Oblivion), with PS3 it'll probably be LBP.

It might be, but I'm not sure on MGS4 after touching MGO...ugh @ the controls.
I got into MGS2 for some weird reason but not really for the gameplay (controls were horrible), the cuntscenes were cool but there's a lot of weird stuff that can rub me the wrong way.
