Sure I still kick sand with Easy AI, but thats how it starts out. I really love the missions you get from other races, theyre also pretty crucial to raising some $$$ fast. Here I am taking out a carrier belonging to an enemy of another race on the map.

So far I just sorta hire out to other races, my main planet is a choke point to my two resource planet/astroids, so its decked out with the latest in orbital cannon upgrades and starfighter hangers. If I piss off the wrong crowd I should be able to hold my own. Plus im in good with the evil bug people.

Sins of the Solar Empire is so far the best strategy game released in 2008. I'm not sure it will keep that title with the positively erotic Empire: Total War due out later this year, but I really enjoy Sins for going off and doing something totally different with the RTS genre.

It's a good mix of a game like GalCiv and a game like Conquest: Frontier Wars.

I'd play more but right now Medieval 2: Total WHORE is totally dominating my playtime. Again.

I get ya. I was just in a space mood after playing RType Command most of Saturday. I've been off of WoW trying to find something else to play and this fit the bill.

I was actually thinking about playing WoW sorta lightly for a bit. I quit right after 2.4 came out and I bet all the nuttiness has died down a bit. Wrath of the Lich King is giving me Serious SAME vibes though, it doesn't look too interesting at all compared to the huge changes that went into Burning Crusade.

Homeworld 2 actually has some crazy mod work going on it right now. There's one mod that is working to incorporate all sorts of believable aspects to fleet combat and management to ramp up both the complexity and the strategy. Early releases have been good but they aren't quite there yet, so I am still holding out hope that I'll get my dream "Harpoon in space" game at some point.

All the WoW playing was getting me into a serious gaming rut so im going to retire my characters for a few months, explaining this to the guild will be fun, since im their only 70 mage lol

Lol, I totally organized a quick cease fire with one of the AI so I could send two huge fleets through their territory so I could support an AI im at peace with against the 4th AI.

yeah, just moving your fleets around needs to be pretty calculated in larger system games. My fleets pretty awesome right now, going to knock out the weakest AI so I can build 3 more fleets to take on the two strongest.

the tutorials are great, and easy mode with a team AI member starting out gives you A LOT of room to goof around

yeah small or medium map, one AI on your team, use easy AI for that one too, then two others, then just have fun. I have a 3 hour n00b 'dicking around game goin'
