Steam question
« on: May 20, 2008, 08:15:23 PM »
Can I share a Steam account between my desktop and my laptop?  By that I mean, can I buy a game (Audiosurf) and install it on my desktop, and download it again to play on my laptop - without paying twice?

Yes, there is no restriction-for MOST products (Bioshock is an exception, you can only have it installed on like five machines)-on how many computers you can install Steam-purchased games on. However, your account can only be logged in on one machine and the game authenticates your ID before running.

Yes, but you can't play on both of them at the same time.

There is a way to work around that, but the solution involves offline mode so no online multiplayer gaming.

Of course. Steam empowers you as a consumer.

Steam realizes that you are a human being, and that you deserve to be treated with respect. This makes Steam unique among game platforms.
