Can someone please help me set up this wireless bridge?
« on: May 20, 2008, 11:02:09 PM »
I wanna use it for my non-wireless desktop and my 20GB PS3.

I'm using this guide:
http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/tutorials/article.php/3639271

But I guess something changed with new firmware and this shit doesn't work anymore. In Step 4, there is no 'wireless mode' option. I can't find any reference to a bridge anywhere in the interface.

Then in Step 6 there is no 'site survey' option, I don't know if that's just because I haven't set it to client  bridge.

Help plz, it's a WRT54G witht he latest firmware.

You can do it, you just need to use Custom Firmware and put the Router into Client Mode. BUT, this being a WRT54G with the latest firmware, you might not be able to load custom firmware at all :/

It's V8, no custom firmware after V4. Fortunately I can still return it.

I bought this instead:
http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F5D7330-802-11g-Wireless-Ethernet/dp/B00020H1TG/ref=pd_bbs_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1211339279&sr=8-5#moreAboutThisProduct

Available firmware update for WPA support

So I guess I'm out like $12 for shipping each way.
