Well, a friend of mine was bitten with the Ron Paul bug a while back, and now he talks about the gold standard a lot and how effective Ron Paul's policies will be... and how Paul is still in the race and he still has a (credible) shot at the White House

Unfortunately, I haven't really bothered to keep up with Paul since the little I've heard about him makes him out to be one of these libertarian loonies and his supporters are even creepier than the hardcore Obama supporters (though of course I'm a fan of the great black hope). And when I argue with this kid I don't want to pull stuff out of my ass or just remain ignorant on his policies... So anybody want to give me a "cheat sheet" so to speak for his ridiculous policies and how to shut him up? Thanks!

If you insist on attempting reasoning with him, ensure that you demand actual, real-world scenarios and not the pie-in-the-sky conditions in which libertardians claim their policies would be successful.

Me? I don't bother reasoning with them, too much programming and denying realty to attempt to have a decent conversation. Instead, I resort to mockery and public ridicule in front of their peers. no one wants to be "that ron paul guy".

Seriously though, If you want to win any kind of political debate you have to know what you stand for. Do you?

Alot of the Obama supporters on the internet don't even have a clue, they just see his charisma or the fact that he's a democrat and thats it. I would rather have Paul's supporters blind support of the constitution than Obama supporters blind faith in the man any day of the week.

I'll also say that their have been lots of occasions of "drones of people" supporting evil men "that lived in the real world" throughout history.

No you used it because you cant use real words to criticize him.

My point was that the constitution is not an evil document. It's imperfect but its probably one of the most beautiful forms of government man has created. People, candidates and parties can change and re-interpret, but the document remains the same. I would rather have blind faith in the ideas of freedom than a candidate, any candidate even ron paul.
