The entire last hour or so was trash.  When they limit the fun part of the game (free running around the filter swapped cities) and force you to do boring shit like watch lame in-game cutscenes you can't skip and fight a hoard of enemies, then that is a problem.  Don't do this with Assassin's Creed 2.

so many blockbuster action games have ludicrously open-ended endings nowadays, always to allow for a sequel. Bioshock and Gears are good examples. And they have sequels coming!

The entire last act was absurd. I squared off against over a dozen enemies.

When you only face a hand full the gentlemen AI is forgivable, but when you have 20 guys surrounding you all waiting their turn to be countered... it looks ridiculous.

I had no problems with the last few fights.  The key is to be really patient and wait for counters.

You don't have to kill them all because they start running after you've slaughtered a bunch of them.

The ending was pretty meh but I've already heard about the complaints so I was okay with it.  I just looked at the story from Altair's perspective.

I never said I had trouble with it. The combat is cake for me. I was just sitting there laughing at the way it looked.

:heartbeat AC ending :heartbeat

I loved the ending.  It made me pee my pants in anticipation for where they take the series next.

the post-credits sequence is where all the essential info is hidden.  It is kinda bastardly of Ubi Soft to make people sit through 15 minutes of credits before giving any semblance of closure to their customers.
