But I dig it, I've enough patience to grate through, what mainly is, barren dungeons. Its all about Weapon Upgrades, its what keeps me going!

Just yesterday I went through my closet and pulled out Yakuza and Dark Cloud 2.  I think I was planning to replay them, I don't really remember.  I do remember being blown away by the graphics in Dark Cloud 2 when I first played them.  Dark Cloud 1 is also fun, people hate on it too much.

I thought I had owned DC2 but I actually own part 1. Its crazy how much I actually enjoy part 1 and yet, its half the game DC2 is. Can't wait to jump in again.

remember, upgrade your weapons by synthing other weapons to them, muuuuuuuch easier

and fishing is the best way to get the best gems too. Theres supposed to be some fish that only appears at dawn thats supposed to give you a fuckton of points.

yeah, gamefaqs has some awesome guides on powerlevelling and stuff, it really helps later on in the game

wait you mean fishing gives you points as in points for the weapons????

I believe the prizes you would win would consist of different stuff (the top tier stuff being gems which was used to synth weapons). Its all kind of hazy but I remember doing some fishing grinding to get particular gems.

I should give this game another chance because it gets praised so often, but I played til after the first dungeon and stopped right there. I thought the dungeon system was terrible, had no fun at all plowing through that first one and the environment (sewers, yay) sucked. Maybe the game gets better later but man, talk about an ugly start

Loved the town building, photography system, Spheda, and even fishing was OK... but some of those dungeons had a tendency to overstay their welcome. Shorter dungeons and a plot that didn't fall apart halfway through the game and this game would've been incredible.

I LOVED this game. But by the sixth "town" I was kind of burned out and the dungeons kept getting bigger and bigger. I think I was pretty close to the end (I think there were 8 total?), but I could never get around to beating it and probably erased the save data on it.

Golfing would have been so much fun if they didn't have so many maps where there is water. It was almost impossible on some maps to avoid the water (with all the bank shots needed).

It was like a Golf game with no rules. Just slam the ball at the right angle to try and get it into the portal. Loved it too

Yeah, and the placement of the golf ball is so random, too... sometimes, the ball starts like 2 feet away from the portal... and other times, it's almost impossible to make the shot. There were 7 "chapters" IIRC,

the 6th chapter being really short, basically questing through those areas you couldn't get to in chapters 2, 3, 4, and 5, to begin with

Finally got to play for an hour or so yesterday night and man, I'm hooked again. I totally forgot where the weapon branches lead, so I don't really feel I'm retreading on old ground. Also, I'm using a list from Gamefaqs that has each an every item I need to take a picture of. I'm mainly doing this so I get all the scoops and missable pictures so I can make the ultimate parts for my robot.

I still love the whole leveling up your weapons instead of getting experience for your character.
