Just recorded a dj mix... what?? NOOO!!

So, I just spent an hour and 10 minutes recording a house mix, and when I listened to the file it has digital artefacts and distortion all over it. 

I was recording digitally via a USB cable from my mixer into my Macbook Pro. The distortion is very bad at the very start, then gets sort of mild, then disappears for a track and a half, then returns again, then I got 25 minutes of perfect audio before it messed up the last track and a half. I don't hear any of this through the headphones or speakers, so I guess the problem must be in the USB out circuitboard in the mixer, the cable, or the USB audio codec or recording software. Very annoying.

Anyway, here's the 25 minutes that are OK.

Was it "bassline garage"? That's what they seem to be calling the modern day form of speed garage, it has some slight electro elements but those distinct farty basslines and high bpm you remember from speed garage. I actually hear a more traditional electro-house remix of T2-Heartbroken on XM radio now, the original ver is pretty much the big bassline garage anthem.

which is fine, for now, i guess, but i've long maintained that electro is speed garage with different filters and have even mixed the two to great effect.

Really good job on this mix, it kept flowing and there's a good variety in genres. Liked the broken beat and classic era garage excursions in the mix. The mixing between the broken beat song into the garage song was a bit off, that's my only critique, but overall it's great!

yeah hehe, I was mixing in the headphones so i couldn't actually hear where the cue point was on the next track. so it was a bit hit and miss

didn't bother to start over though.
