coffee is a good short term aid for asthma. There's lots of good home remedies to make living with it easier.

you just seem to be having a horrible week

I've been having asthma problems this week - certain folks were already privvy to this.  But it got so bad last night and this morning that I went to my general physician and he said I need to have a nebulizer at home (I had an old one stowed away from years ago).  I've been able to manage my asthma with the occasional hit off my emergency inhaler, but it looks like I'll be Xopenx (sp?) for the time being on the nebulizer.  I personally hate it, because a) I feel like Darth Vader, b) it makes me incredibly light heated and "weak" feeling and c) I usually have to do it before work.

Make sure you try and work on some abdominal breathing exercises to try and relax. The worst thing with asthma is people panicking or subconciously breathing high up in their chest instead of into their diaphram

:(  Sorry boo, I know my brother in law had serious problems with this when he was younger but I don't know what to do about it.  When we were at the concert last night he was taking some hits of his inhaler so it's still with him sort of.  Maybe you could turn this frown upside down and be like the boy in Signs and one day aliens will shoot crap at your face but you won't die cause you can't breathe until mel gibson injects you with meds.  :)

I have sports-induced asthma and it gets bad during peak allergy times. I've used Albuterol for years and years. But, a couple weeks ago I ran out and had to get my prescription filled. In doing so I found out they outlawed the CFCs in inhalers. Now I have to use something called Pro-Air (CFC-free). It doesn't work nearly as good as Albuterol. Plus its roughly three times more expensive. There's an online petition to get the old stuff back. Lotta good that'll do.

Fucking environmentalists...hope you get better dude.

Wow, even I think that is dumb.  I'm not sure the CFCs in asthma inhalers would make such a big fucking difference.

Also, you've been missed in the mlb thread over at gaf.  Sweep!

This sounds like when they started taking pseudoephedrine out of all the OTC stuff -- except more environment-oriented lol. Was the inhaler thing nationwide? I haven't had asthma since I was in elementary school but that still sucks.

They just gotta carry it over to the road.

Its probably world-wide. There's actually one store in Ohio that still has the old inhalers in stock. I'm probably gonna see if I can get my doc to call in the presciption up there. The store says they'll ship it where ever.
