Lost Planet 2 is Monster Hunter.

Some people actually liked Lost Planet 1 and would have preferred a real sequel to that arcade action game instead of a 4p coop big grindy monster killin! game.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
I don't like monster hunter :\

PC demo is out on fileplanet.  Uh, it's still bad, but the PC version seems fine.  I mean, no anti-aliasing option and it's stuck in 16:9 (black bars if you have a 16:9 monitor) but it has the option to lock it at 30 fps  :o  Flying with the mouse is fine and almost feels like Freelancer where it's like a virtual flight stick, except not nearly as well done.  has native 360 controller support too.

yeah, Steam deal in 11 to 12 months.

I haven't played CV so it obviously can't be that good. 4 is fucking masterful, though. Those old RE games felt like Goonies with slightly better graphics but shittier enemies.

The only good Resident Evil games are 2, Code Veronica, and 4. True story.

No.

RE 3 is amazing. I've finished it over 10 times. I'm not joking, the game is amazing.

Yeah, I forgot REmake.

So that's REmake, 2, Code Veronica, and 4. Those are the only games I'd classify as truly great. The rest run from middling to poor.
RE5 plays better than any other RE game not named 4 Resident Evil, however.  :D

The main complaint is length/lack of replay value.  It sounds like it'll be a good rental.

This game is pretty sweet. Blowing into the cartridge to start the game is a nice touch.

Dark Void Zero?

Yeah. It's not perfect, but it does an adequate job of emulating the feel of an old NES era Capcom game in terms of visuals, music, and (to some extent) gameplay. My main gripe is the collect-a-thon/keycard level structure which is not reminiscent of old Capcom games.

Brutal especially from the likes of IGN

With a poorly-received demo already forcing Capcom to halve its sales estimates for Dark Void, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone that the full package is every bit as disappointing as expected. By Capcom's normally impressive standards, this is by some margin its least impressive offering for a generation. To be blunt, Dark Void is a bland mass of half-baked ideas, generic combat and unengaging aerial action, with poor AI and a wearisome story. If disappointment is what you're after, look no further.

I wish Nintendo has a humane way of downloading games Wiiware/DSiware games so I could pick that up.  I'm stuck waiting for the PC or iphone version  :'(

I kind of want to get Dark Void Zero but I don't want to download a deep game to my DSi.  I have plenty of real games if I want a "real" game experience, I just use the DSiware to play games like solitare and sudoku, quick bursts when I'm waiting for something and don't want to have multiple cards with me.

Just finished Episode 1 of DV. The game is really slow to ramp up. The last mission in the episode is the the same as the demo but WAY better, you're knocking out shield generators and then doing vertical combat up into the reactor core, blowing it up, then freefalling out of it as everything explodes. Feels pretty awesome, I have no idea why the demo didn't include any of the cool stuff that's in the actual game.

I am a sucker for any game with freefalling and shooting stuff from the air, though (see Just Cause)

Woah, Kotaku actually played a game and managed to get a review up within a month of it being out!  There's a rarity!

I would play Dark Void Zero but I still see no reason to buy a DSi ever.

Will buy eventual PSN release!

I have a DSi and no idea how to purchase games for it, or get them to it. Compared to the PSP's XMB interface with built-in stuff, it's like Nintendo is daring consumers to try and figure out how to buy.

This game would have actually been good if they kept you in the air. Someone needs to make The Rocketeer into a game and don't bring up the NES and SNES version. Those were godawful. The only way I could tolerate the NES was with a Game Genie and the SNES might as well have been a Mode 7 tech demo.

I hate the "newly discovered unfinished NES game" story they have for Dark Void Zero. It's about as dumb as the Lost Levels from the Twisted Metal Black Sequel. It was never finished because the 3 main developers died in a mysterious plan crash... ooooo... ahhhh  ::)

Huh...you just choose the DSi store from the main menu?

I just played this bit myself and cannot even begin to understand how they could have excluded that from the demo.  Vertical cover was always one of the big selling points of this game and that was a perfect scene in which to demonstrate it.  The free fall bit was the cherry on top.  That segment was so much better than the second generator included in the demo.  I seriously believe that such a demo would greatly have improved the general perception of the game going into release day.

They were absolutely stupid for not including it.

There is stuff later on where you're doing vertical cover ON GIANT ROTATING PLATFORMS and it's super badass.
