Most incredible first person combat experience of the year, obviously

Looks so much better now.

And of course, as you say, the chances of any other FPS matching its shooting mechanics are nil.

The whole "I'll upgrade to play this hurp a durp" has become quite a PC gaming cliche, but it's true for me and this game. My X850 has come close to getting junked several times over the last 6 months, but no game ever ran so poorly that I bit the bullet, and no game that wouldn't run (hi shader model 3.0) seemed so compelling that I pulled the trigger.

But this. This magnificent series.

Whatever GPU gets me 60 ish FPS in PO is what GPU gets bought when the game comes out.

I know why FEAR stymies many people.

It's a hardcore FPS. Maybe the most hardcore FPS. So much about it is terribly boring, except that combat. That sweet, sweet combat. So I can understand how casuals get bored and move on.

I loved the combat engine in FEAR, but the rest of the game might as well have been randomly generated content. It's too bad, I was hoping they'd do more with the little girl than they did.

Still, the combat made it worth playing.

FEAR achievements suck on 360. I will try it on PC. Does this game run good with a 9700 Pro? Dont have the new machine set up yet.

You'd get typical console resolution and framerate on a 9700. So uh, might want to just get the 360 version  :lol

I can deal with that. I dont want it on my Gamercard. I'll just wait until the new machine is set.

Depends on what processor you're running with. When FEAR came out I was still using an AMD 2100+ w/ a 9800 Pro and my framerate was garbage @ 1024x768.

The rest of the game, as in you got sick of that combat?

Or you got sick of fighting in cubicles?

the same thing happened to me the first time I played FEAR.
plus, I threw up everything I ate during the time of installing the game.  :-\ and the game was so boring, I couldn't even beat it.
