It's important to remember that Abel is a nutbar, though.  After all, he did make Bad Lieutenant.  If I were Alfred Hitchcock, I'd be curious to see what Herzog would be up to if he announced a remake to one of my films.  Well, I'd be curious at least as long as he left that Nic Cage detail out.

Herzog's pretty crazy as well and it's going to be intresting to see how he handles the source material. It's too bad that Klaus Kinski isn't around anymore as he would be perfect for the main role.
