Wii Fit: You Buy, Mondain cries.
« on: May 25, 2008, 06:21:40 PM »
Oh frack yeah, I can feel the calories literally dripping off!  Wii rock the party that rocks the body. :elephant  :elephant

Will I hit my initial goal of -2.5 lbs in 2 weeks? How awesome is We Ski on the balance board? At $90, how badly will Wii Fit outsell all HD software combined in the month of May? Stay tuned, dear viewers. Stay tuned.

Two weeks from now I will have the toned and be-muscled body of an Olympian God and it will all be thanks to Nintendo.

My Dad wanted to get one this weekend, it was literally impossible to purchase. He called every EB Games, Gamestop, Target, Best Buy, Circuit City, Toys R Us etc etc for FIFTY miles around. Not a one. The sales numbers on this are going to be distinguished mentally-challenged.

Let's face it, your scorn would be even more scornful if he HADN'T bought it to lose weight, i.e. was fit already and just wanted to play virtual hula-hoop...

Its something I have to force myself to do every night, but once I get started I feel like I have to do all of the yoga and strength excercises with a few aerobic games thrown in. I get giddy whenever I unlock a new yoga pose.

Ive lost 70 pounds in the last year by eating less and walking to work every day, but the last 20 doesnt want to budge. I dont gain weight anymore so I view wii fit as a little calorie sink that could accumulate into gradual weight loss.

revolutionary generation defining games often sell out, wii fit is no exception.

I was scarfing down pork rinds and twinkies the entire time.  :(

Does it really matter why I bought it? It looked like fun and it comes with a neat peripheral, isn't that reason enough? People pay $90+ for plastic guitars, steering wheels, dancing pads, and fighting sticks all the time. Where's your sense of adventure?  :whip If I lose some weight too, bonus!

Wii Fit is really well done, I'm impressed. Those yoga poses are pretty hard to do, and the minigames are pretty fun, love the ski jump and the marble rolling game. As someone with very poor posture, Wii Fit might actually be pretty beneficial to me. I like it much better than GTA IV.

It takes Nintendo to make Nintendofans realise they need a wii-game to do something about their health.

As someone who does a lot of online dating, and frequently sees fat girls misrepresent their body types as "about average" or "curvy", if they buy Wii Fit and then get a wakeup call telling them they are bordering on obesity, and then get them to work on fixing themselves, I would more than appreciate Nintendo for the game.

I've been using Wiifit for two and a half weeks and it's great - I've been really impressed with it.  The balance games are OK, but I've probably done them for less than 5% of my time, I'm far more interested in the other stuff.

I agree this should be in Real Talk.  The focus of the software really isn't on gaming at all.
