i'm having a great deal of fun and i think that maf was unhappy that the mages aren't like traditional mages.

this is the first game i've played where i can really be a combat mage who isn't really gimped in either field, though my character is treated essentially as a paladin, that is self healing tank.

i don't know if that's really what i'm looking for. i'm going to try to play around with a conquerer which is a pure support char, a role i enjoy

I don't see where he said you can't kill players. It seems he is just saying this to you to be able to say to the idiot who rolled on a pvp server without being able to handle it that he talked to you about it, but that winkwink nudgenudge don't worry about it.

What would be better is to tell the complainer that is part of the game and that it doesn't fall in their abuse guidelines instead of even bugging you with it.

Also, my computer can't run AoC. =(

I think the mages arent well thought out. If you are going to make me MELEE with fire AUGMENTATION PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY LET ME WEAR LIGHT ARMOR! I can barely take two guys at my level alone.

Hell im FINE with a combat mage, but why a two handed sword and dagger? WHY A TWO FUCKING HANDED SWORD?! How the hell does casting happen with a TWO HANDED SWORD?!?!? Why cant I wield more pratical things right away. Why am I in a ROBE with a TWO HANDED SWORD.

Its fucking half baked.

from all ive heard the tank classses are fine. The mages classes are hit and miss. I dont even have a proper simple range fire spell. They give me a short range spell wtf. The other two spells are augmentation spells but im in a robe so no amount of spell def bonus is gonna save me in a real fight. I die constantly unless I plan my fights around the two minute cooldown of my 25 second demon form ability

like i've said in the AoC topic, i'm rather unimpressed with the inclusion of the elements for the License. to my recollection, magic is wild and uncontrolled, the domain of a few.

yet here every bob dick and harry cultist and pict has access to spells

out of curiosity, what level are you at?

i think you get more forms as you advance and they may not be on a global cooldown

level 10, but its been a lot of dying. The quests im at now are hard with my current spells, and my first feat options were lame like 'cast reduction of your worthless close range fire spell LAWLZ they hittin u!'

yeah, it only gets worse from there.

unless the destiny quest is modeled on your class. i was having a really hard time doing some of the quests.

in another case of "well that's odd"

i ran a priest up to level 9 yesterday and got my first healing spell at level 5.

so i was running around as a priest with a fairly kick ass lightning spell (one hit kill nearly everything in the jungle area) but no healing.

i even got a health buff before an actual heal spell.
