Also, the Wehrmacht side is my favorite one of all of the COH armies. It's elegant, has good command trees, and has little in it that is really terribly overpowered. I usually go volks->mg42->bike->volks or mg42 depending on map, and then t2 for a pak38 and grenadiers/shreks. It's a solid opening and the game organically flows really well from there. I love the early map control that the MG42 team gives you.
One of the cool things about playing COH was when I went and started playing hardcore WW2 stuff like Conquest of the Aegean later on most of the basic COH ideas applied-MG and AT gun facing, terrain, indirect fire support, etc. Part of COH's enduring appeal for me is in the way it really touches on a lot of old wargaming elements in a way that is natural and accessible to the regular RTS player.
