Ubisoft is doing it again: Prince of Persia (I'm getting hyped)

It all sounds really nice, really really want to see it. Probably at E3.

I've always been a fan of the Prince of Persia games (if only they were first party/had a better publisher, it'd beat out the likes of God of War )

Why to get excited
-Totally new world, coupled with very tasteful fantasy paintery artstyle (none of that generic fantasy porno book cover shit)
-No sands of time,
-More open yet still structured
-Runs on the AC engine. Say what you want, but the detail at the scale was amazing. PoP also doesn't have to render lots of people, it'll be more about the nice expansive vistas.
-Focused fighting (the fighting was always the weak point)
-Nice chick (combo of Famke Jansen and Natalie Portman)
-Not an entirely new IP (so less chance of an AC debacle, never been so excited for a new IP:()

Why to temper your excitement
-Shitty Ubisoft and their shitty marketting and not giving devs room to polish and test their game.

Sounds good, screens and art look great... I'm cautiously optimistic. Can't wait to see gameplay.

The mission/world structure sounds interesting, choosing your own path through a game is good.

I'm glad they're shaking things up.  The last three games games have all had a very similar formula and while they're great, it would be hard to get as excited if it were just the same thing for the fourth time.

The bad guy looks brilliant.

I'm disappointed it's open world. I wish it were linear. I have faith it'll be good though.
