Codemasters Formula 1 2009 interview

Some interesting bits:

- 40% of DiRT's sales came from the US(!).  I guess their tactic to expand the audience worked - no wonder they morphed Race Driver into GRID.
- there will be a Wii version (I assume nobody here will touch it, but interesting nonetheless).
- they're sticking with their newfound formula of trying to make the racing as exciting as possible.
- they want to work very closely with Formula 1 teams and get the feeling of those teams into the game.
- damage will be in of course.
- they believe they got the sim/arcade balance right in GRID so they'll be aiming to do a similar thing with F1.

I'm interested to see what they come up with.  F1 games seem to have been pretty average for a long time.

I normally play racing "sims" on a PC, being I only have steering wheels for that, and not  the consoles. RFactor has had to do for now; it's not bad - far from it. It's just not a dedicated F1 sim.

Being an F1 nut I am very interested in this game.

If this game is arcadey enough I might pick it up for the console just for some quick disposable fun. If it's more simmy I'd get this for the PC.

Wii? Probably a pass, since the graphics will look better on an HD console, and I doubt F1 translates well to waggle.
