I'm behind here, but I just recently saw Kevin Smith's tour DVDs. That dude is pretty fuckin' funny. He's in a pretty paradoxical situation, though. He's not so great at making movies (though he has his trong points), but without making movies, he'd lose a good percentage of his anecdotes, so he wouldn't be as funny. I'll gladly get a third speaking DVD, so keep making middling comedies, Kev!

Also, I love Seth Rogen's delivery and I hope Kevin lets him do a bit of writing for the movie, too.

I'm right there with you. The Evening With Kevin Smith DVDs are incredibly funny (especially the first one) and I love his commentaries (the one he did with Jeff Moser for Roadhouse is brilliant) but I'm totally indifferent to his films. Obviously though we need him to continue to work so we can get to the good stuff but man, we really have to wade through some shit to get there.

That was meh. The only thing appealing was Rogen but what he was working with just didn't do anything for me. I think I've discussed how overrated Smith is as a director, but damn the dude is definitely funny as fuck on his own. It's too bad he sucks at translating that to film

Fuck Kevin Smith

His movie dialogues are so unrealistic and preconceived that they only appeal to hipster doofuses. The remainder of his movies consist of little more than "Tits! Ass! Vagina!" It tries to be smart and juvenile and fails at both.

This movie doesn't seem that funny. Making a funny movie about a porn will take time and Kevin Smith just assumes that if he throws in the right people, that it will be good. Rogen is going to have to carry the entire movie and as much as I like his stuff, he isn't that good. I'm sure a bunch of fucks will own it on DVD and I will watch it then.
