My TV done broked

Its a Sony HD 16:9 I got in 2003. Judging by some forums I checked out, it looks like a repair could take weeks and be pretty expensive. Don't want to have to deal with Braves/Xbox downtime. Was thinking about heading down to Walmart to get a 32 inch Vizio. Can't afford something fancy right now. It would be a stop gap until Christmas-time when I plan on getting a nice Bravia.

What say you EBians? Vizio's all right? LCD or plasma?

Uh, Vizio is not alright if you're used to a decent HDTV.  You're going to notice the issues with the set.  I'd say deal with some downtime and use the Vizio money towards getting a decent set earlier

What are some of those issues? Do 360 games not look good on them?

My friend owns a vizio lcd and I always notice ghosting, bland colors, jaggies (out the fucking ass!).  The image quality just won't be as good if you're used to a decent set.  People who love those budget sets usually haven't used a really good set before.  It's not that they're necessarily shit for the money, but you do get what you paid for.
