What makes you say that, Scenester?

So far, it's just safe/mediocre.

Starts off ok but then it takes a nose dive into sheer awfulness. Worth the watch just for a good laugh at the stupid ending.

Oh. My. God.

There are some Wicker Man, Cage-style moments of unintentional humor.  The best bit is when Cusack freaks out and turns over his coffee table, making his wife cry - then walks out completely calm and goes, "I'm going to go get some cigarettes, okay?" :lol

I've seen it on GAF lotsa times.  Its ace.

Samuel L. Jackson pwns his scene.  The rest of the film defines "polished turd".

It's enjoyable, but not particularly great.

The Mist is the superior King adaptation of 2007.

The Mist is great. I loved the story when I was younger and was very happy with how the adaptation turned out. I also really like how there's practically no score in the film. So few horror films do that nowadays and I feel it really adds to the tension and mood of the film.

The Mist rocks.  It's basically RED STATES vs BLUE STATES: THE MOVIE.  And just like in real-life, the red states rule. :rock

I assumed 1408 was made to be a little campy.  It HAD to be.  I enjoyed it for what it was worth.  I'm used to bad King adaptations and I deal with it because I love King

The Mist is probably one of my favorite genre flicks of recent years.  I agree with Frank Darabont, though, in that it just feels better in black and white.  It does make it kinda feel like a movie from the 50s or 60s, plus I think it works better with the visual motif.

The ending was the only good part.  Darabount should have hired a leading man that didn't mumble.
