For PSP, ill just get this out of the way:

Wipeout Pure

Sure, Tekken Dark Res just came out. Its mind-blowing, pretty, amazing its on a portable. OMG Valkyrie Profile on psp, that too is awesome. However there hasnt been a PSP released that is as technically impressive, and feature packed as Wipeout Pure. Just the number of downloadable tracks alone is staggering. The game runs at a solid framerate and offers some of the most beautiful visuals available on a portable. Gameplay wise its a ingenious mix of Wipeout XL and Wipeout Fusion.

Now at Greatest Hits status, you can get Wipeout Pure for 20 bux. Not owning this is like slapping Jesus in the face.

And for DS, tough call:

Phoenix Wright is neat, but a lot of it is trial (lolz) and error. Sometimes it feels like im groping around in the dark with some cases. New Super Mario Brothers is awesome, but I think lacks lasting challenge.

Then there's Advance Wars Dual Strike. I own the first two, and ill say that I understand why a few people were turned off by this installment.

Until mission 10, it is Advance Wars 2. None of he new stuff is incorperated. No doubt they felt as the first entry to the DS library, that there was a greater chance many would come ino the series new, and need some tutorial. In fact I think DS has more 'tutorial' than the first Advance Wars. This complaint is valid.

BUT, once past mission 10 you wil be faced with some of the toughest fights. The double CO battle system and use of dual screen (while not often enough for me) will have you on the ropes digging deep into your bag-o-strategy to find a winning solution eary on. Once practiced you'll be tht much better! COME ON! BUY IT!

However hating on the headphone wearing street talking CO is inexcusable. He is hilarious.

Julius mode is more fun than the actual game. Holy shit, the final boss fucking rocks.

I have yet to get into Advance Wars DS, I've only played a few missions. It probably will take the throne once I start playing it religiously. Which means on the john.

Don't have a PSP. $:-\$

PRJ: if you arent to mission 10 yet, thats they you arent captured in teh fun. Get to mission 10 then decide if you wanna go ALL IN lolz.

I want castlevania so bad but I cant find it in stores near me and im too wierd about ordering online

Yea, I'm only up to mission 5. The reason I'm not playing it a lot yet is because of Guitar Hero and I haven't beaten the last boss in Julius mode yet. And I was the same way about Castlevania DoS, I didn't want to order it online either, but one day I magically found a Best Buy with 5 copies. It was a great day. Don't give up hope MAF.

This is a pretty tough call for me. My DS games (Mario Kart, Metroid Hunters, Brain Age, Nintendogs) are all good, but none of them are great. Brain Age is very addictive, but many of the other games are just solid. To tell the truth, I've spent more time playing Fire Emblem Sacred Stones and FFIV on my DSL than any of my DS games. But I'll take:

It has taken a lot of heat on GAF, but it's a good game. The single player is very repetitive, but online play is extremely fun when you get some friends together. I'm glad that the game has sold well (even in Japan lol), and I hope NST becomes a bigger developer. Too bad they're talent is currently being wasted on shit-tastic Project HAMMER.

Whoops, forgot to mention it. I have Mario already.

It's a good game, but over rated. The thing I really like about Mario in general is the level design. You can do something while no paying attention and it will start a chain of events that end of being awesome.

At best people enjoy it, and I dont think that qualifies as overrated, just something you dont like as much as others do.

Yeah, I feel it's over rated. Everyone I know who has it seems to think it's this amazing game. Even GAF has over hyped it. But there are many people like me who think it's good, not great. TostyFrog took some heat for giving the game an 8, but hell I'd agree with that score.

PSP: I'm gonna hafta go with Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee, followed closely by Tekken: DR. Both games really know how to piss me off, though.

DS: New Super Mario Bros, followed by Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Anything that doesn't require the touchscreen is a win by me.

PSP: Daxter closely followed by Ridge Racer. Daxter just handles so great and I love the fact that there are basically no loading times. I can't get over how polished the game is, and how much it feels like a console game. I'm not a big fan of platformers, but this one was done very well.

DS: Mario Kart with Castlevania coming in a close second.

I keep trying to get interested in Daxter, but the gayass Dizney(sic) reject charcter coupled with a pair of art direction conceits I hate -- bug enemies and movie satire levels -- keep me from purchasing it. Sell me!

Haha.. I competely agree with your comments, and I had no intentions of buying the game for the same reasons you're not sold on it. And I don't even like the Dak and Jaxter series. However, I picked up a free demo at the store and tried it out and was hooked.

Despite the "gayass Dizney reject character" and the bug enemies and movie satire levels, the game is just plain fun. Like I said, I'm not a big platforming guy, but this is done so well it won me over. Maybe it's because I wasn't expecting it to be good at all, I dunno.

The level design is very good with lots of new and interesting things to do in each level, and the platforming is dead on. There's lots of variety and the controls are near perfect, maybe with the exception of the vehicles. The graphics are excellent and easily rival the best of the PS2, and the cut scenes characters themselves are animated very well (I went to school for animation, and although I'm not in the profession any more, I notice these things).

I also groaned at the movie satires, but they're actually done pretty well and maybe a little more tolerable (for me at least) since they take place while Daxter is sleeping and fairly brief sequences used to power up his character with more life bars, etc. All in all it's a fun little game. I would say try to pick up the demo if any store around you still has it. Keep in mind that the demo is only the first level, though.

PSP: Tough call... but I'm gonna have to go with Daxter. Not only is it probably one of the best examples of a platformer on any system, Handheld or console, but it has a lot of replayability. Syphon Filter is too awesome to not get a nod as well

DS: Imma have to say Trauma Center. I can play this game for days. It really is one of the very few touchscreen games that got it right.

PSP: Sold mine a while back but probably Guilty Gear XX Reload (jap port) and Lumines.

Not only do I love this game I really like the music of the game, which is very well composed. Rockin music!

I clicked on this thread to post Wipeout Pure and Advance Wars. Damn you MAF

I'm a pretty big PSP hater, but I thoroughly enjoyed Wipeout Pure and Siphon Filter. The screen and controls on PSP usually ruin it for me.

Advance Wars is quick, deep, and fun, portable gaming perfection. No online mode was a goddamn shame.
