I like the progress toward achievements.  The 1,000 mile achievement in DiRT was a bit of a pain because I had no idea if I had 700 miles or 20 miles to go.

I am so pumped to play this tomorrow.  Visceral racing experiences FTW.

I only had about 45 mins to play last night, but yeah, this is awesome.

Foolishly, I thought I'd try some of the harder options for the very first race including pro mode so I couldn't restart or use rewinds.  And I proceeded to flip my car and total it in the first corner. 

So after a reality check I've selected some easier options and fluked my way to a couple of wins and a few mid-field placings racing in the US.  I also tried a couple of the "Race Day" touge events and they're awesome.

Since I started in the US I might try sticking there in the hope that I can learn some tracks - kind of save the European and Japanese areas of the game for later.  I must say, there's a lot more variety in the game than I thought there would be so I guess the TOCA spirit lives on in that regard.

I've been using the in-car camera and surprisingly I've found it really good.  I guess when you're locked to it you don't have the option of bonnet cam so you don't even consider it.

Anyone else getting the stuttering issue on the 360?  I'm getting it, but it's not enough to deter me.

I feel sorry for the development team, all through MS certification and everything the problem never showed up for them.  Stupid MS hardware.  Patch should be here next week by the sounds of it.

PC version is pretty smooth at 1680x1050 and 4xMSAA.

Yeah, there's some replay caching issue with certain hard drives or something.  The action will pause for like half a second every so often during racing or replays.

Some people are screaming "UNPLAYABLE", but it's more a minor annoyance than anything.  I'm looking forward to the patch though.

Le Mans event is fucking gay. You cant see shit when it gets dark, no one elses car gets damaged and if you miss one corner you can't keep up. Totally distinguished mentally-challenged, either I skip it or sit on the side of the road for 24minutes once I go off the track

Oh wow, I'm having bulk fun with this.  I'm still racing entirely in the US - saving the other locations for later.

I'm really enjoying the driving model.  After getting my ass handed to me in drift in the demo with all assists off, I started with assists on in the full game.  The first I turned off was stability control, and last night I turned off traction control which then requires more throttle feathering, but I'm loving it.  I think I'll leave ABS for a while until I get more used to things.

I'm playing with the wheel and still forcing in-car view and it's been awesome.  It might be the cars I've driven thus far, but I haven't felt the desire to use bonnet cam to improve visibility yet.

I've moved permanently to bumper cam, it's just easier for me to judge corners and things. I finally reached the 2nd level of Europe last night, and now I can hire a driver Team Evilbore is moving up in the world!

Le Mans was a BITCH the first time since I didn't know the track.  So I went and did a few laps to get used to it and now I love it.  Barreling into the pitch dark is intense, and I'm still only in the lowest and slowest class of racing.

I really should buy a Aston Martin DBR9 () and try a higher Le Mans class, but I'm feeling like hoarding funds at the moment so I can fantasize about hiring a female team mate and having steamy intra-team relations in a mountain of $100 bills spread out on the garage floor.

There's an achievement if you get enough money for a certain car, cant remember what one but it's about 2.8million

I did the stupidest thing the other night - I lost the head to head battle you get when you complete a series. I thought you had to win 6 events again to get the head to head so I finished them all. The head to head STILL didn't come up. Then I saw I had to press Y to redo the head to head

One thing I like is that your co-drivers really are only good at what they say they're good at. My PRO co-driver is awesome at Touring Cars but sucks a giant wang in Muscle cars. In the touring car events he's usually ahead of me for most of the race, but in the muscle cars he barely finishes his races. I should try him in a dorifuto event

I initially had a co-driver that cost about $180,000 (Eiji I think was his name) and he was great.  Almost always finished second behind me (even though his specialty was pro tuned).

I wanted to get the achievement for hiring a driver more skilled than me before I get too far up the ladder so I paid for some guy for $1.9M and he SUCKS.  His specialty is drift I think, and even in drift he hasn't finished second once.

I want to fire the useless tosser but I paid so much for him that I'm hesitant.

Apparently the first console patch is out now.  I haven't been home to try it yet but it should fix the pauses that some people are getting on the 360 version.

I haven't been getting awful pauses, but a couple of replays such as the destruction derby have so many pauses it pretty much ruins the enjoyment of the replay.

There is a destruction derby in the first season of the US region.  I think it might be in the very first row.

I don't remember the name of the track, but it crosses over itself (so you get T-bone crashes) so you should be able to recognise it by that.
