I just want to (permanently) lose my burden of intelligence, and there are few ways to do that effectively / quickly. I've seen some legitimate research papers on the subject...

Why do you have other people choose your future?
Does it have to be a period that involves both Europe and the US? If so, your choices are pretty limited...
how about the Napoleonic Era?
