Played a LONG game of Commando....made it most of the way thru my first time (it doesnt let you continue)

I like it better than assault heroes...the vehicle driving is more fast paced.

The characters are funny looking and im not yet sure how I feel about the Commando universe getting a Team Fortress II style treatment.

Gameplay somewhat remains true to Commando - double stick shooting/moving is new as are the flamethrower and rocket gun.

The bosses are very smash TV, and some of it doesnt feel polished enough.

ITs worth 10$ to me - and I look forward to Commando II: RE-armed!

Novastrike was hard to get into at first mostly because it was not a 2 stick moving/shooting game...imm too tired to type about it now - but Novastrike is different enough to not be just another DLC 2 stick shooter...once you get the hang of it its quite strategic...its got some pretty FX - but you are zoomed out like 5000% so you dont get to appreciate them as much.

All in all I think the games deliver for the $20 spent...cant wait to play some commando 3 online.

Is there a way to purchase this game with a US account if you are located elsewhere (my primary account is Hong Kong)? I know there are checks to see if your credit card is valid in the US because of all the built-in online security features but with the Wii I just register my region as, say, Colombia and since they lack such sophisticated validation features the credit card is accepted. Can you do something similar on the PS3?

Commando was great fun on the PC - I'd like to try this out for the PS3.

This is the sequel to Bionic commando which was the sequel to Commando (arcade/NES)

I do not know if it is possible to do what you ask. I only every buy content from my region and haven't played around with the PSN store for other regions.

Bionic Commando is a different series. Commando 3 is the sequel to Mercs, which is the sequel to Commando. The series is "Senjou no Ookami (Wolf of the Battlefield)" in Japan, hence Commando 3's supertitle.

I remember downloading the rom of the arcade bionic commando. You're right, dc, complete garbage. The art was cool, though.

I bought Commando 3 off the Playstation Store yesterday. I played through the first level by myself, but I think the real fun is going to be when I play with two other friends in the 3-player mode.

IGN actually gave PS3 version a higher score because Xbox 360 has more games on it

Commando 3 - 3 player co-op is great!

And thats funny I got the commando -> bionic commando -> Commando 3 thing wrong.

Thats the way I always viewed it because I played the hell out of commando in the arcade, and when bionic commando came out in the arcade the "commando" part of the logo was the same as "Commando" but it had "Bionic" in the title.

Im sure many old coinop fans view bionic commando as the sequel to commando simply because of the same "Commando" logo used.

In fact - because of that im not sure you guys are right about MERCS

I might just buy this for the SF2 beta. I havent seen the achievements for Commando 3 anywhere.

another thing I love about commando 3 is that they didnt pussay out and add a dodge/roll command....

MY high score is around 900,000 - I am ranked #230 in the world right now

Different names (although there were like three Ikari games, so maybe one of them uses "Ralf and Clark," I dunno), but see Mox Maniac's post. Ralf and Clark are the Ikari warriors. Heidern is their commanding officer. Leona is Heidern's adopted daughter, too. And while it's not Ikari, Ralf and Clark appear as playable characters in Metal Slug 6, returning to their roots. There's also some Metal Slug mobile phone games with Leona.

The original KOF '94 really was an "SNK all-stars" game. Fatal Fury and Art Of Fighting are the most recognizable, but then you have the Ikari team, and Team China is actually the Psycho Solider team. Psycho Soldier is an older SNK arcade game, and is where KOF's Athena (not to be confused with the other Athena character SNK has) and Kensou come from.

You can use an Ikari-style Ralf (his look) in the form of Another Ralf in the KOF Maximum Impact games.
