... their sales representative came in today with an "entourage", telling me that in light of a thin PS3 and PSP release list (although, it was called "streamlined") to pitch to customers post Metal Gear Solid 4 and Secret Agent Clank, that I should be selling folks on this PS3/PSP killer app:

Awesome. :rock

Blue, no joke.  We have a binder with key titles.  After Secret Agent Clank, the only other key title for the PSP is a Madden PSP bundle they're coming out with.  ... and this Buzz game.  The PS3 is pretty crappy too.  They had no date for Home and post-Metal Gear Solid 4, the key titles were Little Big Planet (looks pretty good), Resistance 2 (looks like crap!) and ... Buzz.

What the fuck, Sony?

He was pretty adamant that Buzz is going to be hot!

And personally, while I think the PS3 is a paperweight, I'll push whatever sells to make money.  I pretty much despise all the Wii and Wii Fit stands for, but that didn't stop me from beating every store in my region in terms of Wii Fit reservations and pushing it heavily.  I am not going to get Metal Gear Solid 4, but you damn well better be sure I'm going to hype it up.

... but this post-June list is pretty pathetic.  Don't try to pimp Buzz! on me and act like it's the Second Coming of Wii Fit.

that's sort of ripping off Scene It.

and what I don't get is that if Sony had a few games they knew they weren't actually going to publish, why didn't they spread out the cancellation announcements a little?  Did they really have a team working on 8 days?

shill.  I at least hope you mentioned the (lack of) exercise value and the over hour long cutscenes.

Just for kicks: what are the key Autumn/ Winter exclusive 360 titles?

I know about Gears 2 and that's it. Is Banjo 3 a 2008 title?

Banjo-Kazooie is slated for this year.  We got Gears of War 2, Halo Wars, Viva Pinata, Fable 2 and Too Human to pimp all year long.  Not to mention that multi-platform titles like Saint's Row 2, Fallout 3, etc. will sell considerably more units on that platform.

If Sony had a Gears of War 2-type AAA title (God of War III) to pimp and cancelled everything else, that'd be cool.  Gears of War 2 is going to be ridiculous.  I don't even want to deal with that type of crowd.

Oh, the sales rep was ANGRY (:maf) that Viva Pinata 2 is stealing the Eye of Judgement camera card technique.  I told him that nobody plays Eye of Judgement except shut-ins and Asian kids.  And then he cried.

I don't even get why they'd be pushing this for PS3 and PSP, instead of PS2. Which has an actual install base (that buys games rather than pirates them).

I'd say a) because both the PSP and PS2 can be (easily) pirated, while PS3 games cannot, and b) because right now the PS3 needs all the help it can get.

I am actually, unironically looking forward to this 360 cast off.

Its coming out at a reduced price, the concept rocks (Clancyvania), and they've supposidely removed the shit from the beta 360 version.  Hell, it could be okay.  So I gets Metal Gear, and maaaaaaaaybe this, so that's a decent summer, right?

I liked Vampire Rain but based on what I played in the demo, the game needed a lot of tweaking.  It was barely playable sometimes but I liked the setting.

This thing I liked about the Vampire Rain demo was that if you were spotted, you were dead.  It kept things really tense.

I'm really looking forward to Buzz, especially since you can create questions (my friends and I love trivia night at a local bar). However, I don't see it doing much in the US.

My wife has been lobbying for us to get the PS2 version, and after I told her that I wasn't sure if we'd need adapters to play it on PS3, she's been regularly asking how the PS3 version is coming along. I'm not seeing the failure.

The fact that a Rare line-up of ghastly vomit can be "pimped" on the 360 says a whole lot about the horrendously indiscriminating tastes of the common 360 tard.
