Here's the link to the Tom Cruise/Bryan Singer flick "Valkyrie".  At what part did they think it was awesome to shoot a film about Nazi Germany and have the actors retain their accents, including British ones?

 I hear this movie has been kicked out of 2008. I initially had some hope for the project... not anymore :/
 
I don't believe the moviegoers of the world are too edgy with English accents in Germany. It's Cruise who will stick out with his hard American accent. Heck, even Harrison Ford had cracked at it revisiting his far russia roots for the K19 story.

Who gives a shit about accents? It's a movie set in Germany and the characters are Germans, and they're still speaking English. Even perfect German accents wouldn't make it any more accurate. And there's nothing wrong with that if the movie is good, and it looks like it could be entertaining.

Ok, now who the fuck said that wasn't a valid complaint when I brought it up?!? Might have been Ichi smh.

I love Cruise and thought this movie sounded cool until I saw the trailer.

That trailer sucks.

First off, yes, at least some of those people should be faking accents or actual German actors. If you're not Sean Connery, you can't just talk however you want.

Secondly the trailer was way too long and specific. I don't need 45 fadeouts showing me exactly who gets busted and when in the end. Also it seems like everyone is sort of jovial about the risk they are undertaking, I'd rather see a Life Is Beautiful style sort of depressed acceptance.
