The Hot Dog Bar + Gaming Forum = I don't like it.

I usually check the gaming forum and bail. I'm sure I'm in the minority here, and I'm not looking to change anything - I just liked it better the old way.

I don't like it either. There is not a big enough community to concern with split areas. Even OA has a bigger community and doesnt have a split area.

Merge them back.

All I know is I do a lot more clicking. I do see more gaming topics created and they are staying on topic however. It will be a shame to lose that if we merge again

No way, this is better. Even though this forum isn't as active as the other one, I like that game discussions aren't pushed off the first page in five minutes by a barrage of wacky topics.

Who cares if it's a little slower moving? Stop by this forum once an hour. At least there's a place for only game discussion.

Well majority will rule in this case. There are plans to keep it going till January. At which point we will decide what to do with it.

Unless of course administration feels inspired to jump the gun on the great experiment, which again, I dont care about

Well my main problem is knowing where to put a few of my threads. Im a mod and I could do what I want, but it would immediately be spammed with MOVE TO GAMING forum by Dark Shake and his crew of misfits so wtf do I do there.

Honestly I get more RESPONSES to gaming threads in the GAMING FORUM than I did when everything was on one forum. However it is clear the forum traffic is somewhat split between the two forums. Which means a lot of people are posting meaningful replies for SOME reason when gaming threads are on a gaming forum.

I dunno, I like Evilbore with actual game discussion. I stop into gaming about once and hour and there will be a dozen or so topics with new posts. I think that's pretty good. Those topics wouldn't last 5 minutes in The Hot Dog Bar.

I see the merit in a gaming forum, and I do see its purpose. Gaming threads stay ON TRACK in the gaming forum. Honestly I dont see Melissa post that much in the Gaming Forum anyway. I think it would be a better idea to ask the Gaming Forum posters what they think.

I know it doesnt make the users browsing this forum list as impressive as it has been in the past, but I am honestly tired of watching my gaming threads sink like a god damned rock.

I would've never made my Viva Pinata thread if it weren't for the gaming forum. Why bother to put effort into something if it's going to be on the front page for just a few minutes. Even MAF's weekly gaming threads, pre-gaming forum, would end up just being an extension of the silly nature of the then-unnamed Hot Dog Bar.

I don't get the rush to kill it off. Some people like it, some people are using it.

I TOTALLY support the gaming forum. Hell, I've posted more in the past couple days at the 'bore's gaming forum than I have in the previous year at neocrap. It definitely helps that the people there are better posters than the rank and file at the other place, but the point is that if we eliminate that outlet, the gaming threads in the Hot Dog Bar/general discussion will just sink without a home of their own.

Also, put me in the column of "the Hot Dog Bar is a dumb name" camp. Call it the "Sausage Fest" or "Random Randomness".

im not a fan of GAF OT's humor, and in the hot dog bar this is nearly all there is, so im posting almost exclusively in gaming

give it a few months and the gaming forum could be pretty fucking sweet, it's a great asset to keep for the reasons many have said previously... itll add a lot of credibility to this board

and since most posters here seem to post almost exclusively for OT content, well for them it should be a good thing that they aren't encumbered by gaming threads
