Since I'm new to the PSP, this is my first opportunity to play Portable Ops. I finished up my replay of Snake Eater last night, so I'm now in a race against time to finish up PO before MGS4 comes out on Thursday.

So far, the controls suck, but I loved Snake Eater so much (other than The Boss being an astronaut) that the continuation of the story is keeping me interested.

360: Blue Dragon, when that gives me a fucking DRE I put in Army of Two.

DS: the original Advance Wars and Im replaying Contact. Such an awesome game, even better than I remembered.

PSP: Valkyrie Profile Lenneth. Quite stressful to play but good to play on the bus before work, the music is just so pump-up.

On thursday: Metal Gear Solid 4 on the PStripple baby

I should really get back to Mario galaxy, but fuck that wii

Ninja Gaiden 2- Flawed but I'm really enjoying it so far. I still prefer some things from the first over this game (like balance) but the combat in this one is much more fun to play with.

Rise of Legends- Been in a mood for an RTS and this one looked kinda fun.

Legend of Mana- I've been playing this on the PSP. It's a great game to pick up and play in spurts. Love love love the soundtrack.

Castlevania (NES)- Made it to the very end today but I cannot beat Dracula's second form.  >:(

EXTREMELY late to the party with this one. I beat 2 and 3 and figured, might as well give the first one a play. I just beat the 3rd stage (the desert followed by the ship). So far, it's pretty bad.

Beat this game, got the regular ending, and the super secret good ending, there is one ending I have yet to get...

and then I'm all done.

My free copy of this came in the mail today, and I'll be playing it this week.

I will be repeatedly dying in Ninja Gaiden 2 and Mystery Dungeon: Shiren DS all week.

I'm going to need something to bite down on.

I'm still debating on bothering with getting MGS on thursday.

Strategic Command 2: Blitzkreig (a beer and pretzels WW2 game, I just finished a 40+ hour game of EU3 and not interested in jumping into another long HoI2 game yet)-it's sort of like Panzer General meets Axis and Allies.

Taking a break from strategy gaming otherwise to enjoy these two good console ports:

Also playing Depths of Peril some more. You loot and level whores need to at least try out the demo, while everyone wanks off to audiosurf and trials 2 this is the real indie deal of late:

Oh lordy I have a bunch of awesome things to play - GRID, Zack & Wiki and Lost Odyssey.

I'm doing WiiFit as well, but I wouldn't call that 'playing'.

Wait what the fuck is this game. Is this a space sim or adventure game? Sci-fi adventure game maybe :hyper?

Sci-Fi adventure game. It's kind of a poor man's point-and-click Mass Effect which is cool, but the problem is that it's based on some German space opera serial called Perry Rhodan that's been running in magazines since the 60's, and there's 40 years of baggage in the story. I imagine it's like playing a Superman game if you'd never heard of Superman and you don't know who Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, or Lex Luthor are. As best as I've been able to piece together, you're Perry Rhodan, who was the first man on the moon in 1971 (the series started in 1961) and you met aliens who had crashed on the moon and you helped them out and in exchange they gave you sweet alien tech, and now it's like 5000 years in the future and you have this cellular regenerator that allows you to live forever, along with several of your friends, and because you're so old, you're all respected leaders of Terra (I dunno what happened to Earth, it's probably gone now). Anyway, your apartment gets attacked by robots who appeared to have been built by this alien race that was hostile to Terra in the past but they aren't now, so you blame them, but they say they didn't do it, and also your ex-wife who was also one of the 5000 year old people gets kidnapped, and in your search for her, you begin to unravel some conspiracy which somehow involves this metal fragment you found that is made out of an alloy of matter and antimatter.  :o

I've put about four hours into it, it's okay so far. The beginning is extremely disorienting, but after an hour or so, things start to make a little sense. Hopefully it picks up now.

Syberia had some really amazing art direction, like all of Benoit Sokal's games (just finished playing Sinking Island). I don't know if it tops that, but it looks nice. Here's some screenshots I took.

i was talking to a level 70 bear shaman who says that it gets a ton better at lvl 20 or so, but good lord that beginning slog is horrible

Playing Prey for the first time. It's ok. I liked the beginning, but the game has a very generic look to it.

And tried to play the Lost game. I'm a huge Lost fan, but the game is utter trash. I always die in the first cave.  :'(

decided to replay God of War II. fuck me, i forgot how amazing this game looks.  head and shoulders above everything else on the ps2.  unfortunately, the hardest difficulty is complete bullshit.  i love super-hard difficulties, but this is just cheap and unbelievably tedious.  and the plain old hard mode isn't hard at all  :'(

I've been playing NG2 mostly  :gun
I'm also slowly working through STALKER, BG&E, and Prey on the PC. My PC's in my bedroom and it's been fuckin' crazy hot in DC for the last couple of days, so I've had to leave it in hibernate as much as I can. The thermostat for the A/C is downstairs so the room heats up pretty uncomfortably after awhile.
I'll probably Steam GRID once I've beaten one or two of those games.  I also borrowed Sins of a Solar Empire from a coworker but haven't had a chance to try that.

Hey demi, you should check out The Lost Crown sometime if you get a chance. It reminds me a lot of Scratches. It's a slow-boiling, atmospheric mystery/horror adventure, like Scratches. The game's all in black & white with photorealistic backgrounds (I think some of them actually are photos) and occasional splashes of really vivid color, and it gives it a weird dream-like quality. It's pretty cool. It's crazy long too, it's gotta be at least 25-30 hours.  Most adventure games last about 10-12 at the most, this one I've played for at least 8 hours already and I peaked at an FAQ once, and I'm barely a 1/3rd of the way through the game.
