Well, the District of Columbia will likely become a state along with Puerto Rico during President Obama's first term, giving Democrats another four Senators and 6-8 Congressmen to pad their new permanent majority, so you might be correct in a way!

Every time I get my hopes up when it comes to a presidential election, I get fucked over, so this time I'm taking a pessimistic viewpoint and expecting McCain to win. I am from the coast, work with and surrounded by educated, upper-middle class people (good mix of conservative and liberal)... I absolutely have no idea what's going on with the minds of middle america anymore, especially since I left the very working-class city of Buffalo. So I still think the race issue and stupid prejudices and ignorances about Obama is gonna cost him.

Yep, I don't think it's a slam dunk for Obama. I will be surprised if he wins, especially with Karl Rove's racist fear mongering tactics. Remember the Swift Boat job. The Republican machine is ruthless.
