So how is that new Coldplay album?

I am embarrassed to listen because of, well, Coldplay.  But I am curious (yellow) because of, you know, Brian Eno.  He can even make U2 sound good.

I think it's possibly their best. It's pretty good.

I think it still mostly sounds like Coldplay-by-the-numbers with little deviation from their tried and true formula, but there are a few new things here and there, serving as the highlights.  It's certainly easy to pick out Eno's touch.

Still not as good as Parachutes, but a step in the right direction following the abysmal X&Y.

I'll reserve my judgement until I've listened a few more times. But, on the first play through its clearly a departure from their previous albums. I don't think its as good as X&Y though.

Coldplay is my latest guilty pleasure. My wife witnessed me rant quite a bit about the worthlessness of this wuss band, and then I was caught by saying that a to me unknown song that was playing on the radio was pretty awesome. Minutes later, the artist was revealed, and it was fucking Coldplay.
