I'm enjoying my time here as well. It's much more laid back than the other place and and community is small, which I love.

I hope Evilbore never becomes popular like GAF, simply because I like the smaller community (and also so publications like Famitsu won't find out we post scans from their magazine).

I like both gaf and here, but I do think posting here is far more interesting.  In the few years I posted on gaf, I never got to know people by their username, but here I can know people easier.  I still like gaf if only because of how fast it moves, but sometimes it is a headache to see the same cycle of shit over and over again.  Plus this place doesn't have pussy footing around shit like scans and porn.  I like that.  Whenever I see someone posting a stupid phrase with P and M in bold, I just wish I was a mod so I could ban him for his insolence.  Plus, a lot of cool guys who don't/used to post on gaf post here.

- not only the tolerance, but the embracement and promotion of the word “cigarillo.”  Seriously, this bothers me quite a bit.  It’s no less offensive than words like attractive Jewish person, [edit: I see the N word is censored...and yet "cigarillo" isnt], and cunt [setting aside the fact that the internetz is quite male-dominated and "cunt" seems to have lost its power long ago]  Seriously, the EB admins are great, but still tremendous dumbasses for condoning this.  I mean, think of the huge gay consumer market you're missing, like Nick and Teh Hamburglar, etc, who rarely post here!

- the name sucks.  “evilbore”….. more like “lamecock.” I’m sure you don’t want to make EB reputation a totally GAF parody site, completely about GAF, but with a name like that, you’re really asking for it.

Sorry you dont approve of it. In order to keep Evilbore the freewheeling site everyone loves it for being, we need to pick and choose our battles.

Point 2.) 'Evilbore' is our name. We aren't a parody site. The name was originally a dig against Evilore but it doesnt really mean that anymore, but at the same time it represents this forum entirely. We had discussed a name change a few months ago but decided against it. We're too young a forum to do something like that. Its like naming a kid something, then changing his name when he's 5. Its just not a great idea.

Point 3.) Not a lot of people have had their names changed. A few non-mods have in order to evade possible work related issues. I change my name more often than anyone here.

• the community is adorable and heart-warming
• lack of forced abrasiveness for shock value
• quality content on both sides of the spectrum, gaming and real talk
• amazing servers, forum software and features
• despite the small community, posts are made really fast and often (community is full of active members)
• i can't think of anyone i dislike here.  everyone seems to be down to earth and chill
• lack of censorship except in extreme occasions -- the perfect balance
• mostly everyone is intelligent, witty and literate
  
• emotes are solid, although i'd like to recommend a few
• staff seems pleasant enough.  tbh, i barely even know who's on the staff, which is a good sign
• good mix of americans and euros
• the small community means you get to know the other members rather than feeling like a goldfish in the ocean. a huge positive, imo

That said, my complaint on the 'cigarillo' word was not because I give two shits about political correctness or I'm sensitivie or such.   It's just that the N word goes off while the gay slur doesn't.   In fact, I feel it's more 'politically correct' to be anti-racist, but less so to be anti-gay slur, etc.

Still, that's the only complaint.

b) It doesn't bog down my old crappy computer - if I were to go to one the game news sites or whatever, it would take forever and kill my computer

I went there today to check what new news there is and noticed theres a big sticky thread at the top, that says you'll be banned for saying you want a port of a PC game to a console in a PC game thread. Retardedness at its finest. I think the owner of that site might need to go outside and get some air for a change and let things be instead of trying to control every little thing on his elitist forum.

GAF is a decent enough board.  The biggest beef I have with the board are the tag fishers, who comprise mostly of are undersexed or neversexed nerds who are desperate for GAF mods and admins to slap a demeaning tag underneath their name.  It means someone finally noticed them!

Drudge is an amazing news source... not just for politics but all sorts of random shit.  He doesn't just post news about politics.  More than half of the content is random news stories.  I love staying up to date on current events and Drudge is the best source online.  Lots of democrats view Drudge, as well.
