wow. i uh, wow. the combat feels slow and sluggish compared to tales of the abyss.

karol is an annoying little twat and estell's english VA sucks too. from this bit of demo it seems as if the character dialogue is a huge step back from abyss which is truly a shame.

i was really looking forward to this one after abyss but this demo has put me off a bit.

The demo sucked. The dialog is awful and slow. The combat is pretty fun because it is the exact same thing from the past games. Graphically it is really inconsistent. The characters look great, but they don't seem like they mesh with the world and the animations are bad.

I thought the combat was slow compared to other Tales... and it was annoying when other enemies hit me during an Arte and made me stop.

That did get annoying on the boss battle when I was pretty much using the person on the right of the playing field to heal the guy on the opposite side back from death, but then the boss would run back and forth killing us both before we had chances to.

Wow, the graphics are great. Cel-shading always looks so good. The characters look amazing and the backgrounds look like paintings. I never played a Tales game before but I liked this a lot. The story seems to be so ridiculously japafag and lame but it's a nice change of pace from what I usually play (shooters, gory action games, etc.). Well, I got owned by the big wolf with wings... I'm assuming he was a boss. All my characters died and the demo ended. I used a bunch of life bottles to revive them but it didn't matter. I wish there was a tutorial on the controls. I didn't know how to do anything. How to switch characters? How to use spells and stuff? The only guy I could use was Yuri and only attacks he did were with x and circle, two swings with his sword. I went to the Artes menu and tried clicking on things but nothing happened.

It looks and feels ALOT like a blurrier version of Sonata which isn't necessarily a bad thing as there wasn't anything technically wrong with Sonata, it was just lacking content in about every area. Give me more stuff to do, different enemies to fight that aren't palette swaps, and some characters that won't have me driving a screwdriver into my brain and you've got yourself a customer.

I'm a very patient person but WA4 was the last straw for me. I have a feeling I'll hate this game, considering its a "Tales of" game

Wasn't really feeling the characters, they were pretty annoying, and the dialogue went on and on and on... typical of a Tales game I guess. Graphics were very nice though, combat felt slightly sluggish but not noticeably so. The load times were vastly improved over Abyss, the last Tales I've played, so that was nice. And the one song in the game sounds almost exactly like Sonic 3's Carnival Night zone. I'm definitely gonna buy this game when it comes out though, but RPGs translate so poorly to demos. Especially when the characters talk about places/people/stuff without any sort of context whatsoever.
