Getting your license in the middle of an oil crisis = WIN

Timing is clearly not my strongest trait.

Welcome to 10th grade.

I had my license previously.  I just let it lapse and I haven't had one in 7 years, so I basically had to go through all of the steps again, which is kind of a pain in the ass.

Wow, how did you get around for those seven years?

Public transport?

Favours?

Well, I've lived in an area with serviceable public transportation since 2004, so I've never had problems getting to work or to prominent nearby locations.  Before then, well, transportation wasn't all that important for a number of reasons, and even if it were, I wouldn't have been interested in driving at the time.

If we had a serviceable public transport system in my town I'd use it.  But it's a total joke.  Buses go into town about once an hour at best.  So to get to the other side of town (like 10-15km) takes a couple of hours.

Useless twats.

houston's public transport system actually isn't that bad and it's pretty expansive.  But I'm an asshole and I like my truck

Like any good Ballard fan, I've had my serious auto crash.

I still don't have a drivers license (in my 20s).  I am starting to think driving on roads legally is gonna be hard.  Driving a car on a track or parking lot is no problem, but that doesn't get me from point A to place 2.
