i was sick last week and lost five pounds, dropping down to 136, which is kind of skeletal, so I need to beef back up a little, hence all the crap i ate today

*bam* i've gotten that same exact thing before. they scared me when i asked for no onions in the quesadillas and they said that they couldn't do that because they already came with them :'(

Last night, sushi. And it was NAS-TEE.

The shrimp I mainly ate was decent, but the squid and engawa were disgusting. I came very close to upchucking several times.

What saved me was the all-you-can-drink coke machine near my seat. Kept washing down the nastiness with soda.

I love sushi, but this restaurant is just disgusting. This is the second time this has happened there, so I am never going back. The first time, I ate some kind of octopus that didn't agree with me, and was able to dash to the bathroom before anything embarrassing happened.

Was it not fresh or something? The only times I have bad Japanese food is when I go to places like Todai's or buffets.

I went to a buffet once and this guy was sliding down clams like they were tatter tots. Those halogen lamps were probably the bane of his stomach later that day.

It's hard to tell. Everything felt too rubbery, plus it all looked too wet. The rice was also slightly warm, which I didn't like. It makes me wonder if it's the way the chefs wash their hands (and don't dry them?) that made the food turn out that way. I don't know what it is, but I was immediately turned off to the food. If my wife hadn't already ordered, I would have left.

I am thinking tonight we should go to the GOOD sushi place to make up for last night, but I don't know if I can handle sushi again so soon.

Went out for Italian food for a friend's birthday...I had something called Orecchiette Baresi - Small ear shaped pasta sautéed with sweet Italian sausage, fresh broccoli rabe abd sundried tomato in garlic extra virgin olive oil

Thanks to Gengis Cohen's recommendation, we went to Bin 941 last night here in Vancouver, BC. We ate the following:

--Goat cheese house dried tomato salsa, navajo fry bread
--East west Crab Cakes, burnt orange chipotle sauce, charred baby bok choy, cucumber salsa, tobiko
--Cinnamon chili rub Texas Flank Steak, maple syrup chipotle glaze, black pepper pommes frites
--Crispy skin free run Wentzel Duck Breast, Pemberton nugget potato, pancetta, goat cheese hash, truffled haricot vert, port sundried cranberry sauce

Today, we had lunch at Japadog near Robson Street. I had the Miso Mayo dog, while my wife had the Teri Mayo dog.

After the Stars concert tonight, we're going to hit up Guu with Garlic for some awesome izakaya food and beer, and then go to Fritz European Fry House for some late night poutine.
