The only, and only PS2/PS1 games that look janky through my 60G PS3 are Yakuza and Shadow of Memories, both of which have some sort of weird shimmery/voxel kinda look or something. I dunno what but its odd. Everything else has been awfully darn nice to look at.
I know its such a trivial reason to buy a PS3, to get a at-best moderate visual upgrade on your existing Playstation library. But gol-dern it, it is pretty nice in practice.
And this is really why i bought the PS3 when it had such a limited library. I wanted the visual upgrades and the HDD support for memory card data. IT was a must for people with large PSOne / PS2 libraries.
Then I was sad to see how bad BC looked when the PS3 launched......but now its dreamy since the changes way back a few months after it launched.
It really gets to the point where I dont think of any of the titles as PSOne PS2 or PS3...they all work so its just Playstation - and really if you want to play playstation on a modern display, the PS3 is appropriate.
Way too many games on one console - more than I have ever had previously....I can go from playing Kings field, to Jumping Flash to Metal Gear solid to one of a billion RPG's to God of War to Echo Night Beyond to Unreal III, Uncharted and Gran Tourismo 5 Prologue all in one sitting with one controller.
