and I did!

Here are some benchies of the 280 GTX x 2 for Borys.

Everything's taken at 1920x1200

DMC4 w/max settings and 8X AA

World in Conflict in DX10 mode w/max settings

Company of Heroes also in DX10 mode w/max settings and 4xAA

Crysis is now playable at 1920x1200 in DX10 w/very high settings. Still can't turn on AA though.

Should've bought two GX2 instead. They are faster than the GTX280

I could. What I mean is that the framerate will take a massive dive if I turn on AA. If I want PS3 framerates then I'll just play my PS3.

Very high in Crysis is just extremely demanding. It's perfectly playable at High w/ AA. It's not a big deal since I"m not going to replay Crysis anyway.

Only in very limited scenarios. Quad-GPU is just terribly inefficient. Even my 8800GTX SLI was faster than two GX2 in many situations.

Also, the GX2's limited framebuffer and memory bandwidth meant that it slowed to a crawl in memory intensive games at 1920x1200 and beyond. Otoh, the 280 is ace at high res.

Man I wish I could get my wife to look the other way while getting 2x 280's like that-totally awesome performance.

. Really nice setup-I'm still on my first-run 8800GTS from last year (which is a great card, but not even in the same league as that setup).

As for AA in Crysis, at high res like that with all the motion blur shader work going on, it's totally not a big deal.

Do you have Edge AA on in Crysis?

Open the console, and enter Use_Edge_AA = 1 or 2.

Well, I'm glad that you're satisfied with your purchase. I've never seen a need to spend more than $300 on a card, knowing that a year later I'll be able to spend another $300 and blow away last year's $750 videocard.
