Just get the first one, what is it $12? You might get burnt out but w/e
Glitches aren't game breaking at all and the frame rate and tearing isn't as bad as I remembered it
Are you kidding me? Having more than two police squad cars on the screen makes the framerate drop under 10fps. The pop-in is fucking insane, and I can't drive for longer than 3 minutes straight without falling into the great abyss.
If you really want to try the first one, go for it, but SR2 isn't that far away. If you played the demo, you've had your fill of SR1, just wait until the sequel.
Get out of here clown, I was doin the drug seller missions just a few days ago. Frame rate was acceptable, pop in is no worse than gta4, and id idn't fall into an abyss once.
The fucking hilarious thing about you is that you're fighting yourself. I never mentioned that GTA4 is superior in any way compared to SR1. I'm simply saying SR1 is pretty mediocre, and GTA4 is easily worse than that.
SR2 is a paltry four months away, which is just enough time to burn yourself out on sandbox games if you bought SR1 and played it to death. The story isn't relevant in the second game and neither are the characters, really, so that leaves gameplay the only reason to buy SR1, which is, like I've stated, terribly fucked up and broken considering all the glitches.
Regardless of your so obviously biased anecdotal evidence of SR1's quality, I'll let this video speak for me:

Saint's Row is a great game, it's just filled with glitches that break the game, imo. You'll just have to evaluate yourself and your tolerance for performance.
